Gov. Sarah Palin charged the state for her children to travel with her, including to events where they were not invited, and later amended expense reports to specify that they were on official business.
That means hotels and flights for 3 children. In the past two years she has been in office, she has spent $21,012 and even more, as the state was charged for other trips. How did she get away with doing it? By saying they were invited to attend, which was not the case at all.
When she released her tax records earlier this year, some tax people questioned why her children’s trips were not included. Now they know why. While in New York, they stayed for 5 nights at a luxary hotel for $700 bucks a night. In a trip in July, it was $2,000 for expenses and her girls got their own hotel room for $200 bucks a night.
The state is already reviewing nearly $17,000 in per Diem payments to Palin for more than 300 nights she slept at her own home, 40 miles from her satellite office in Anchorage.
