Tony Romo Turns Hero Again

Tony Romo: NFL Man Of The Year? File Photo

In September, he helped stranded motorists.  Now, Romo is helping the homeless one at a time.

Dallas Morning News‘ Tim MacMahon had this to say about Tony’s new heroics:

A homeless man who goes by Doc was cashing in change at a Cinemark theater in Dallas when a guy walked up and offered to pay his way into the movie [“Role Models”]. Doc, who planned to spend his day passing out flyers for a few bucks, accepted a rain check before realizing that he recognized the generous gentleman [as Romo]. …

Romo, who confirmed the story but didn’t want to elaborate, waved Doc over to sit by him and his buddy. Doc sheepishly mentioned that he hadn’t showered in a few days. “Don’t worry about that,” Romo said. “I’m used to locker rooms.” …

“For me, it was a blessing,” Doc said. “It came at just the right time. It gave me some encouragement and faith in mankind. I just wanted to say thank you.”

Romo, not even wanting to elaborate?  Sounds like a guy who was brought up right and just simply knows practicing random acts of kindness is what we as humans are supposed to do.

I got a man-crush on Romo.  😉  Got a problem with it, Jessica?-Dr.FB

I am a single parent of 2 and also in a homeless shelter. I have worked all my life and have now lost my restaurant manager job last year aftet being in the restaurant business for over 6 years. My 2 adopted chilcren are the joy of my life and we can attest to the GREAT DEED that Tony Romo has done by helping someone one who has nothing is more that money can buy. He lifted someones spirit up and gave us meaning. Even if he had not helped just a smile to us or a kind word goes a long, long way. I am determined to make it with my kids. I have a 19 & 9 year old and the Dallas Cowboys are OUR TEAM!!! THANK YOU TONY!
