02 Feb Kobe Bryant Passes Michael Jordan’s MSG Record; Drops 61 Points On The Knicks!
Ok, I know basketball season doesn’t really start until after the all star break and unless it’s Boston versus L.A. or Lebron versus Kobe, it’s usually not worth mentioning. Unless you break a record held by Michael Jordan.
I joked at the office today that Kobe would have to drop a double nickel (55 points) against the Knicks, something Jordan has done twice. Well, Kobe proved me semi-right as he put up a Madison Square Garden record 61 points! Bernard King techically had the record with 60 until Kobe broke it with a little over 3 minutes to spare.
Chants of MVP and standing ovations for Kobe as he electrified the crowd as an injured Andrew Bynum watched with crutches from the bench. Bynum is expected to be out 12 weeks like we reported earlier, but will he be slow to recover like he did last year? Laker fans can enjoy the night, but we will be having nights like this in June?-Dr.FB

My San Antonio Spurs will make a fine showing in the NBA Finals and bring the trophy back to the Western Conference where we both know it belongs. 🙂
