oh and by the way, my personal opinion is that racism does have something to do with some people’s sudden lack of respect for the office of president to a greater degree and with a different tone than has ever been in the past. but you asked our opinion on mr obama’s remarks, not our own opinion on the subject of racism and the presidency. but you know me doc – since when do i keep my opinion to myself? lol..

i think president obama has put a certain kind of class and sophistication back in washington and especially in the white house. he is most often diplomatic without being rhetorical, and he truly believes that civility must be the order of the day for maximum effectiveness to be achieved. he does not want petty issues taking the focus off of the issues at hand, and he personally does everything he can to keep bringing the conversation back to what needs to be accomplished. when asked on 60 minutes about whether he felt wilson should be given any kind of “punishment” for what he said in joint session, president obama said that he thought we should focus on healthcare reform rather than this – in other words not let wilson’s outburst, either loving it or hating it, take our focus away from the actual issue at hand. and here again, on racism, he brings it back to a more neutral ground, back to basic issues. he is not looking for a pat on the back or to be defended. he’s not looking for a pity party or someone to blame. he wants to get things done. he’s the only president i’ve ever seen really look at this as a job that he was hired to do by the american people and act accordingly. he’s got character and integrity and i am really proud to be an american right now. he is a great example to all of us. i hope more people start realizing this fact and try to live up to his example and support it rather than constantly trying to tear something down or apart. and now i’ll put my soapbox away. thank you for reading if you’ve gotten this far – lol.. peace and blessings to all who read this.
