Roman Polanski was finally arrested for a sex charge that stemmed from 1977, 32 years ago.

The filmmaker had a sexual relationship with a 13 year old back in 1977.  He was charged with rape and in 1978, he fled and has been living in Paris ever since. He attended the Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland this weekend and U.S. officials made their move and help from Swiss officials. It is being reported that Roman was stunned when he got arrested thinking he would be protected under french law but was arrested before getting a lifetime achievement award at the festival.

U.S. officials want him to return to California to face charges but Polanski is doing everything he can to fight the arrest and charges.  If he does not agree to go to Los Angeles, the U.S. Justice department has 60 days to take him there and file a written request. Officials from his homeland of Poland and France where he lives are protesting him being held.

Polanski, is 76 years old and has had strange things follow him for his entire career. His wife at the time, Sharon Tate, was murdered at the Manson family house, and then arrested at the Beverly Hills Hotel after a 13 year old girl said he raped her at Jack Nicholson’s Mulholland Drive house.

The girl, Samantha Geimer, reached an agreement with the director and forgave him publicily. It has not been good enough for the D.A.’s office however, and has been pursuing him ever since.

What do you think of this case and his arrest? For me, I am going to do what he didn’t when it came to that girl and not touch it.-Dr.FB

Oh .. okay. Samer with Twitter. Whenever I mention something with sex or write F3@k, I get a bunch of these pornspam idiots as followers.
I once tweeted “Donald Trump sucks!” and then one of his associating spamsites started following me too. That’s the problem with internet advertising

Do u mean an ad to the left? Those are random ads placed by words used in the post.

It sucks because when say I report on a celeb with an eating disorder, ads show up for losing weight.

I am trying to get it where it is all celeb ads and nothing else. 🙁

Dear dr Funkenberry, I’m not a puritan. But why is my name/post linked on a G-spot advertisement? On any other topic I can handle my name/post being linked to G-spot whatevers, but not in this particular Polanski /pervert post.

Yes, Roman did admit he had sex with the 13 year old girl; however, he was not charged with rape. … what he did was wrong, even if it was long ago, he still was made responsible for this…

Polanski’s crime of statutory rape case may have resolved itself as a victimless crime by now with his undisclosed settlement with Samantha Geimer. But his crime of flight to evade justice has not been resolved. And it cannot be resolved until such time as he is remanded into custody of the same court from which he has been a fugitive for three decades.

The guy drugged and sodomized a 13 year old. At the time the guy was in his 40’s. The fact that he drugged this kid first is evil to begin with. The fact that he did everything to escape doing time proves to me that he’s a coward. The fact that she forgave him – in my opinion- won’t acquit him for doing the time (remember Mackenzie Philips and this so called consensual incest sex with her father?). And I can get really upset about people blaming puritan America(ns) and throwing in arguments about how in some cultures the age of 13 is an age of legal consent- as in o.k to have sex with. I’m from Europe- and believe me; if you fuck a 13 year old here you’ll eligible for doing time.
I have no children but if somebody did what Polanski did to one of my nieces, boy I will make sure he pays for this- even if the judicial system fails to do so.
    BTW I love your blog!
