Listen To Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” Now!

Here is the 1st new song officially released since the death of Michael Jackson entitled “This Is It” and is released ahead of the movie of the same name which comes out October 28th with the CD released October 27th.

I think it ends way too soon. Longer version on the CD?

So….what do you think?-Dr.FB

It’s hard to listen to it, hearing his voice just makes me tear up a little. Nice song, but like Velo said bittersweet. But it’s a cool song though.
Thank you very much Doc.. smile.

I like the song … I think the O2 shows/Tour were called ” This is it ” because those were to be Michael’s last live performances … just a coincidence in my opinion that a song was written and recorded many years ago with the same title. This song was not a connection for any tour … It would have been nice if there would have been a new more upbeat song titled “This is it” for the tour/shows . I’m not sure if Michael Jackson had even recorded an album or any new music to connect with the O2 shows/tour. ???

Sony and AEG make me sick. He hated Sony(see his thriller killer sony speech on You Tube) and AEG were so quick making the movie and selling it to Sony. AEG were also sick for givng fans the option of getting a ticket instead of a refund – I know it was the fan’s choice but it was a sly way of profiting from grieving fans… sick

Also there are rumours and fan testimonies that Michael was not well before he died and AEG should have helped him more:

I agree with Velo; in addition the song does absolutely “nothing” 4 me and disappointed with Sony. I have no interest in seeing the movie.

$ony are just out for the money like they always have been there is no way that they are going to release the new songs until they really have to why sell something new when you can sell the old stuff.

Dr you seen the ‘This is not it’ campaign that has started, its causing a split amongst some of the fans. Its being done by some of the fans who knew Michael personally, the ones who saw it coming and tried to help but were kept away. Whether people agree with it or not they have some strong points.

I agree with Velo you would think he went in the studio recently to record a song entitled This Is It to coordinate with the planned tour …. it is deceptive, The right thing to do is make the fans aware the song was done before and provide what year etc…. still is a strange coincidence

Sony really did have it in for him business wise ! Where was this much needed music marketing when he was present with us smh

What I think is that Sony should be bitch slapped for advertising a “new” song by Michael Jackson when it’s NOT.

This song was written by Michael Jackson for, and recorded and released by another artist in 1991:http://www.drfunkenberry.com/2009/10/12/michael-jacksons-this-is-it-written-for-someone-else/ (dr.fb edit for related story)

Hearing Michael’s voice is bittersweet, and while I’m grateful to have this recording… come on, Sony. Really? I mean, really??

And first there was the CD. Then, they announced the 2-disc limited edition of the CD. Then, tonight, they announce the 4-disc vinyl set. I’m curious to see how many versions of the DVD and t-shirts, posters, magnets, key chains, lunch boxes, chopsticks, dishware (shall I go on) they plan to announce in the future.

They knew. They knew and they did NOTHING. Blinded by profit margins.
