10 Dec Adam Lambert on The View: “I’m not a babysitter”
After lifting his ban from ABC appearances last week, Adam Lambert sat down for an interview with the ladies of the The View this morning.
They asked him about his controversial performance on the American Music Awards, saying that parents were put off by the racy performance. Adam responded with “It’s not American Idol anymore… I’m not a babysitter. My job is not to take care of your children, that’s your job.” Check out his interview and performance of “What Do You Want From Me” below.
What do you guys think? Was the reaction to his performance borne from homophobia as Joy Behar suggests or does Adam deserve this backlash? – DrFB

Posted at 17:45h, 19 DecemberAdam is doing nothing any different than Bowie, Madonna, or Prince the only difference is he did it on network TV. He is making a name for himself. Was I in shock yes, but it wont be the last time that it happens with a live performance. Lets face ot if a woman does it its, erotic, if a man does it its sick……We really have not evolved.

Posted at 22:00h, 10 DecemberEveryone is missing the point. HE WENT OFF SCRIPT, whats next. How about you just put out some good music and keep your focus on that. I could care less who ( or what ) you kiss, but after that “performance” I could also care less about your music!

Posted at 17:19h, 10 DecemberI said it once and I am going to say it again. His AMA performance was too much too soon for that audience. His AMA performance overshadowed his voice and talent. Here was his opportunity to showcase his voice and talent and he almost blew it.

Posted at 15:42h, 10 DecemberMan that was straight up homophobia. You’d have to be blind as a bat to not see that. The idea of a man kissing another man on national TV is still considered taboo but its ok to see 2 women kiss. Bullshit, it’s the same damn thing and there’s nothing wrong with that. Like Adam said, he’s not a babysitter and if the parents got a problem with that, then they have the power to turn off the TV. Period.

Posted at 15:35h, 10 DecemberThe man has an amazing voice, seems very pleasant and definitely eye candy. His music is the only thing they should care about.
My only objection to his AMA performance is that his vocals were off. I agree with Joy, Homophobia was the cause of his being banned by ABC/Disney. Let’s not forget that ABC is the network that cancelled Alan Freed’s show in the ’50s because Frankie Lymon danced with a white girl. The Network execs and Southern viewers went wild with outrage.
If they cared so much about “the children” why didn’t they ban Miley Cyrus for her pole dancing performance on the Kids Choice Awards. They don’t dare though because Miley’s been Disney’s lil cash-cow since she was what?.. 12 / 13 yrs. old?
OK.. end of rant.
