The change is was an idiotic move from the beginning. There was no way his prime-time slot could have ever fared well against CSI and other rival shows at that time slot. Even as a huge Leno fan I understand the reality that the prime-time demographic doesn’t want to see an ‘old man’ doing a variety/talk show. The whole ‘earn your plug’ and ‘green car’ gimmicks… it seemed obvious that Leno wasn’t really into it. Bottom line, I can’t wait for Jay’s return to late night and I hope things work out well for Conan’s future. With all this publicity and newfound public interest, I’m sure Conan’s next move will be a success.

As Jay says, it’s business. The 11:30 time slot is the most important to NBC and now they have to decide who’s better to have there right now. It’s clearly Jay IMO. Conan wasn’t doing well there and Jay wasn’t doing well at 10. Put the franchise comedian back in the slot.
