The biggest celebrity couple of all time was/is Richard Burton & Elizabeth Taylor.  If they were together now instead of the 60’s and 70’s, they would be talked about more than Brad and Angelina and be followed any and everywhere.

It was so nice, they married twice.  Divorced twice as well.

Elizabeth Taylor has made public love letters that Richard wrote Liz over the years to Vanity Fair.

It includes nicknames he called Taylor including “My Lumps,” “Dearest Scrupelshrumpilstilskin,” and “Twit Twaddle.”My Lumps?  Um, I think Wil.I.Am. owes Liz some song royalties.

“If you leave me I shall have to kill myself. There is no life without you,” Burton wrote. Pretty powerful stuff.  Romance and passion…and little bit of craziness.

“You must know, of course, how much I love you. You must know, of course, how badly I treat you.”

‘You are probably the best actress in the world, which, combined with your extraordinary beauty, makes you unique.”

Elizabeth Taylor had this to say about the letters and Richard; “Richard was magnificent in every sense of the word,”  “From those first moments in Rome [The Cleopatra set] we were always madly and powerfully in love.”

There is one letter that Liz keeps by her nightstand and refused to publish but read to editors.  She says she reads it every night before bed and it is right by her nightstand.

One can only hope true love, passion, and romance like this will make a comeback.  Just hold the craziness.   This might be one print media article actually picking up to read.-Dr.FB
