One of the most soulful voices of R & B music has died. Teena Marie, 54 years old, died in her sleep last night. Lynn Jeter, Teena's rep, has confirmed the news to media outlets. Her daughter, whose birthday was on Christmas day and just turned 19, found her body earlier this morning. So sad.
We are being told that Teena had a mild seizure within the past month.
"Luckily, someone was there,"Jeter said of that seizure. "The ambulance took her to the hospital, and on the way she had another seizure."
Teena Marie's career took off when under another R & B Legend's wing, the late great Rick James. Teena was Rick's protege and his duet partner for "Fire & Desire" and her major hit "Lovergirl" back in the 80's. She was the white girl who could sing "R & B" and helped break down color barriers in her time.
As soon as we can confirm How Marie died, we will pass it on.
Rest in Peace Teena. Thank you for the music and the soundtrack to many lives you have provided. Say hello to Rick for us. We send out heartfelt prayers and condolences to Teena Marie's family and friends at this time....-Dr.FB
UPDATE: Accorring to reports by Pasadena Paramedics, it appears that Teena Marie died of natural causes........
OK, so maybe the "bitch" word is not like the "N" word is not going to catch on and Keri Hilson is finding that out.
Keri performed at the special Ne-Yo and friends and did her major hit "Pretty Girl Rock" and the crowd was behind her until she asked "Where are my beautiful bitches at?" and not many screamed back.
She went on and it was a good performance and Ne-Yo was on stage to enjoy it.
Check it out above and let us know if someone said "Where my beautiful bitches at" would you respond in a "positive" way..?-Dr.FB
Last Saturday night, Prince rocked New York City with his first of three shows at Madison Square Garden. The Garden was sold out and the roof about flew off with all the funk in the building.
During the concert, Prince finished a song ("Baby I'm A Star" if I recall?) and handed his trademark Hohner leopard guitar down into the VIP section. One lucky fan got his hands on it and posed for the picture above.
I was not in the VIP section but vividly remember watching this moment happen from above. Prince has handed off guitars into an audience before, but never at a large arena show and very rarely it is his treasured Hohner which he's been funking on since Dirty Mind. How lucky was that fan that an official photographer was right there to capture the moment??
Did the fan give it back? Oh yeah, we saw the guitar later in the show, back on Prince where it belongs.
Prince has two more shows at Madison Square Garden on December 29 and January 18, 2011. If you're in NY, don't miss it! - Dr.FB
Ne-Yo did a special for Vevo and performed "Champagne Life" and it was hot.
Ne-Yo's "Libra Scale" is his latest CD and with jams like "One In A Million" I am digging it.
Check out "Champagne Life" performed by Ne-Yo and let me know what you think.-Dr.FB

NeYo lets us know in a new interview that he does not like driving stick and gets very annoyed with people who text and drive.
He also said he has not listened to the new MJ record as he believes Michael Jackson would have never released that material while alive and called it a travesty.
