Prince Wannabe Auditions For X-Factor

It was a like a Prince from 1979 took the stage on X-Factor last night…except that Prince can actually do all that and sing well.

Siameze Floyd performed on X-Factor last night and claimed he was original.  Although when Simon said “You are obviously a fan of Prince.” Siameze admitted he was a big fan.

From the splits to the hair to energy, it was Prince.  He was happy to be compared to him.  Sigh.  Sia, is it ok that I call you Sia?  You, my friend, are NOT Prince.  You are amusing but still not Prince. Paula letting him pass? Seriously? I can understand Cheryl Cole and L.A. Reid was not impressed.

Thanks for making us laugh and good luck on X-Factor…and your future career of being the lead singer in a Prince cover band.

Check out the wannabe Prince above and a classic clip from Prince 1980 below-DocFB

P.S. we really need good footage of stuff like the Bandstand appearance.  Good visuals, sound that stays in sync.  Have it….I don’t know…like on an official site, Prince.  I got the time….but you got the ride.

Diagnosis:  The One & Only…….

few and far between can sucessfuly pull a “Pricne” and hit a home run. this was another foul ball. dude needs find his own ID and style.

as for Prince’s AB performance — some awkward moments I must admit……but its those “learning” moments that has given us one of the most talanted live act today.

I’d say comparing the Siameze performance and Prince’s from American Bandstand, Siameze kicked Prince’s ass in a major way. Back at that AB performance, Prince is an embarrassing mess. Can’t move, can’t dance, is self-conscious, shy and comes off like an amateur. Thank God he didn’t stay that way.

    Hey Guys:

No idea why you must be so harsh on a guy who is clearly super talented and gave it all on that stage before 3,000 people at the USC arena and 50 million people watching around the country and the world in 50 different countries. First of all, let us NOT forget when PRINCE came out, he too, was unfairly compared to copping the cumulative styles of MICHAEL JACKSON, JAMES BROWN, LITTLE RICHARD & JIMI HENDRYX; which although unfair, were all actually compliments. Same thing with MICHAEL JACKSON, who was compared to JAMES BROWN, JACKIE WILSON, DIANA ROSS & SAMMY DAVIS, JR. And BEYONCE, who has been initially compared to everyone from TINA TURNER, DONNA SUMMER, DIANA ROSS & LOLA FOLANA; this is all just human nature. Bottom line is, not since JOSEPHINE BAKER, has there been anything remotely ‘ORIGINAL’ in show business!

Give this guy the credit he deserves, SIAMEZE got a 3 minute standing ovation from that crowd (I was there) that he earned every bit of from his 8 1/2 minute audition to his ORIGINAL self produced / arranged rendition of the RICK JAMES Soul/Funk classic, GIVE IT TO ME BABY; which L.A. REID stated to him there that night once he quieted us all down, “IT IS A TESTAMENT TO YOU SIAMEZE THAT WE LET YOU AUDITION FOR 10 MINUTES, WHICH IS LONGER THAN ANY OTHER CONTESTANT” and SIMON COWELL chimed in with “YES, I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE WORK AS HARD IN AN AUDITION IN MY LIFE”! They wouldn’t just give out those kinds of compliments and audition time if the kid sucked!

Putting it all into perspective, you have to remember that “THE X-FACTOR” has the unmitigated right to edit Siameze and any other contestant in any way that they so choose. So it’s unfair (at best) and ignorant (at worst) to think that the severely edited audition that you saw on TV of 90% dance and 10% singing is what Siameze actually served the judges & crowd there on that fateful day. C’mon now, let’s get real… SIAMEZE KICKED THAT CROWD & THOSE JUDGES ON THEIR NATURAL ASSES THAT NIGHT & SINGLE HANDEDLY SHOWED THEM “THE S-FACTOR” WAS FAR MORE POWERFUL THAN ‘THE X-FACTOR’!

In a day and age where ALL of our young ‘so-called’ Pop stars voices / performances buried deep within autotune and lip synching, the hardest thing for any one to do is SING & DANCE at the same time; and as Vegas’ yongest headliner as ‘THE GODSON OF ROCK & SOUL’, SIAMEZE showed us what real performing and artistry is all about, when he showed tremendous vocal power, technique, precision & range!

So in all due respect, whether he wins the $5 million dollars or not, SIAMEZE has already won because he has now crossed the threshold from “UNKNOWN TO KNOWN” and we’re all still thinking, writing & talking about him! Have you googled him lately (“SIAMEZE FLOYD”) or gone onto YouTube and put in his name and seen the number of hits the guy is getting; and now his album coming out with 9 songs that he Wrote, Produced, Arranged and Sang ALL voices on; it would appear to me that like Prince, there’s a lot more to this artist then just killer abs, acrobatic moves & cascading locks of hair!

    Woo !!!

Siameze is a Trip and a 1/2 and yeah he was channelin’ Prince, TTD, Rick James, Jermaine Stewart and Milli Vanilli (Rob & Fab). He’s a true performer but, there was no ORIGINALITY to his performance. You know he’s not gonna win the show … LoL

    Prince is ‘The Original’ …

    He sure is no Prince….

His copycat moves are not even in sync with the music..
But he is probably there for the entertainment value more than the talent value…

Good on him for trying though.

Btw the product placement is just disgusting…

I caught his performance on X Factor last night and I am curious to see what he would do if dialed down a bit?He obviously needs to find more of his own identity. But the fact that he went out there swinging putting his all into it is more than what I can say for most people who are actually suppose to be entertaining us.That man has heart and he left it on the stage for all to see…and for those who can’t see that are probably the kind that never take chances.Quick to pass judgement but never have the balls to do what he did.

Rick made peace with Prince shortly before his death. Prince has covered Rick in his concerts since Rick’s passing…..

Wow. I may have to start watching this show now. He has Prince’s old school perm but a new school, Rhianna forehead.

I wonder if he understood the irony of looking and dancing like Prince while singing the song of one of Prince’s most imfamous detractors.
