Prince Recording, Opus Arrives, &……….Y

We hear Prince has been in the recording studio lately.  These rumors put him recording at his studios in Minneapolis, Paisley Park, and also in Hollywood recently.

We do not know if he is recording for himself or someone else but we will share that with you shortly.

Remember in April of 2009, of a Prince Opus book for $2,100?  We sure do and 2 and a half years later, the first book has arrived!  It was to be a limited edition of 950 books.

Thanks ot brad for sending us this; here is the guy who ordered it sharing it with the world;

Now what about the Coachella DVD? (Crickets chirping.)

OK, now back to Prince recording.  Andy Allo, who Prince has taken a musical liking..and perhaps other likings to.  Andy posted on her Facebook Fan Page about waking up next to a 1973 Fender Stratocaster next to her.  We can only guess who put it there.

This is where it gets interesting. We were given a tip from an unnamed source over the weekend of Paisley Park filing for a new trademark at the end of September.  Paisley Park as we stated earlier is his studios and what he does business under.

The trademark?  &Y.  Get it?  &Y.  & being the short version of And and the letter Y.  Put it together and you have &Y which is Andy.  Ahh Prince.  Only you.

So are he and &Y….I mean Andy recording together?  Only time will tell but that trademark listing for Entertainment, Live, and Musical Performances is sure interesting.-DocFB

Diagnosis:  &How!

^Even without mentioning the vault (that Prince himself has acknowledged exists) this is pretty lame and I’m a longtime fan.

^The Vault’s always been a carrot Prince hangs over fans so they stay interested, been happening for years. Most of those songs you may or may not have heard that were never released probably existed only on the cassettes he threw around with little to no care in the WB years. In fact, there was an instance where a mastertape of an unreleased maxi-single remix from the O{+> album was left behind at Larrabee Studios.

Not saying there isn’t anything in the Vault, I’m sure it has some incredible surprises but not sure about the state of the tapes… man we can go on and on about it, plus his Jehovahist ways? You think he’s going to release nasty content songs?

What a waste of money dude, serious… and we’re supposed to get exited about Andy Allo? Oh dear. It’s about time Prince opened the vault or hit us with a killer album and stopped wasting everyone’s time and money.

I’m reading it as AND WHY people…

    How about ‘&eee’

Why not just call the project or whatever it is as ANDY?

The creative mojo has long gone the way of the dodo. This is what you get when they sit around in the purple furry sofa’s at the crib and hash out ideas rather than get real art and creative direction help like Prince did the WB years.

And the Opus?… two years later… news about it?

Look Prince – as far as I’m concerned a real “PRINCE OPUS” would have every Warner Brother/Paisley Park album you did – remastered in SACD with a book with never before seen photos for every darn album and each album gets at least a three disc + 2 DVD treatment with Liner notes by Alan Leeds and full band member interviews, unreleased songs, never before seen proshot concerts, etc. etc.

    Now THAT… is an OPUS.

I actually enjoyed some of the song’s on that Bria Valente’s cd. I thought he recorded that super clean… Wonder if there is a version with just his vocals on that album in the vault?

If I had the cash to spend, I would have surely picked up an Opus.

I’m not sure the & – thing works….its a cute idea……but who knows….folks ought to reserve critique until after the release of the rumored CD(s) is/are released.

Bria Valente’s Elixir is still in my rotation. I thought it was genius packaging her cd with two of his. Otherwise, I would not have known or cared. Elixir has a few good tracks i still enjoy. As far as Tamar, did she do an CD of her own? And with Andy, well if she has a stand alone CD, I honestly won’t search it out. Prince would have to include it with his next CD to get my money. Unless, of course, he does something really interesting and revolutionary with her talent.

Either she makes him look real old or he makes her look really young….can’t decided which one it is yet.

Dear Andy, don’t lose your identity to fit in Prince’s world. It will be your downfall and the end of your music career. Stay true to yourself. Unfresh, we see the real you.

I can’t say that I’m excited for another protégé project. Anyone still listening to Bria Valente’s Elixir or Tamar? lol. didn’t think so. btw, that opus book looks like a monumental waist of money.

JeePee. With you. Was sitting on the trademark thing for a weekend and needed a little bit more to put it out there. The Opus and Fan page comment we were told about made it a little bit more of a cohesive story. Each one by itself was not enough to make a story…..
