In there of Michael Jackson, “Love. L O V E.” I can’t understand why people want to spew negativity about this great, open interview. Oh well. We all do our best in the moment. Thanks for posting this. Fantabulous!

I didn’t think it was possible with decadesss of being in love with him, that he could make me love him even more (he just did)!!!! Everything from his music, good looks, intelligence, on & on aside……his being so personable and honest, with a stand for his beliefs and no fear to just speak his mind is quite endearing.
I pray that he will have no more bouts with Vertigo and will always, as always, pray that he will be Blessed with more joy than he can handle for all the joy he’s given and gives to so many others.
PRINCE, much love to you forever from your girl from the “D”. You touched my heart many years ago and even I wouldn’t have believed this many years later that you’d still be deeply embedded in my heart.
I LOVE YOU (in my prayers every night)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Modernaire – Agree but he’s not slick. He’s predictable and it looks like he’s trying to serves three masters: Money, Pu$$y, and Jehovah. You can’t serve all three Prince Rogers Nelson. It can make you dizzy and tired. The whole act is tired and his creativity seems to be suffering. Him and the NPG should go away for a couple of years. Numbers don’t lie!

@1:51 WE? Who’s WE I wonder… back in the 1999 era, Dez did a guitar solo… Lisa and Jill provided background vocals… very odd wording.

@2:16Prince is trying to convince fans and fams that they should accept these new remakes and sanitized old songs, I mean, he mentions he’s got the old instruments and its him to convince fans that the new versions of old Vault songs are IT… but later says he’s a different person.

Of course fans/fams will front for Prince and say, hey its the same old Prince, talking all kinds of contradictory things… yeah.

If you really look at it, there several things Prince is doing with these old “Vault” songs. He’s basically cleansing them and making them Jehovah Witness approved AND he’s taking the profits of releasing the songs AWAY from Warner Bros. Records because WB can claim ownership of the songs since they were recorded in the time Prince was under Warner Bros. Records contract. This is easily proven by him copyrighting the songs then under Controversy Music, and so on.

So its a two way beneficial things, satisfies his religious congregation or whatever, and he earns the “lions share” of the profits.

I have to laugh when Prince says its him GIVING the songs to the fans… or sure it appears he’s giving them out for “free” for fans and the public to enjoy… but he already got paid by AEG for them. The sales of the songs are already in the pocket without ONE fan or the general public actually purchasing them.

Why is this? The internet, fans would just share the songs and he wouldn’t get a real profit off the songs. Two, he takes the profits away from iTunes, Amazon, and other digital music outlets as well, aside from taking the song away from Warner Bros.

He’s slick. I’m sorry I have to actually point this out to fans, but if you think a bit more “deeply” as he suggests we do, you’ll see these clever profit making moves. Which is fine, hey, he’s got every right to make money! Slick I tell ya! Great! I don’t buy a single thing Prince puts out anymore nor will I, or attend concerts etc.

What I think bothers me is the way Prince isn’t forthcoming about it, or white washes it up… and at the same time, hinders his former associates from their right to work and also maximize the full potential of their work through “branding” copyrights. There’s just something thats askew there…

The kicker is this part of the interview – @2:38 when the DJ actually asks a reasonable question about changing the original (obviously never heard the amazing original version) Prince in his OWN WORDS points out he feels he’s not the same person as the Prince he was back then.

I keep telling fans and fams, there are two Prince’s, as Prince is an extreme Gemini – the Warner Bros Years genius creatively not having boundaries Prince and the post WB, indie Jehovah Witness Prince with boundaries, and religious dogma. Essentially Prince is a different artist than he was, he’s basically a Christian Rock star now!

But of course, he loves benefitting from the Prince work he did of that “different Prince” of long ago, what I call, Classic Prince.

I also point out “Prince copies Prince” and uses “Prince” today, like a bait-and-switch thing! I know, a hard concept to accept but again… think about it fam.

^He’s not bringing out the jewels of his vault. He’s remaking them and sanitizing them.

    Prince,

I love sooooo much how courageous you are and never worry about what wierd haters have to say regarding the man u r now. Love that u always take a stand 4 HIM and urself 4 that matter, the way of doing “ur” music and UR life! My admiration grows still… and to be vulnerable on top of it! U know… Craniosacral therapy helps 🙂 I happen 2 know of an extralovable lil therapist that does it 🙂

To be honest I was getting worried u were becoming; well u know (all that the little haters would love 2 hear actually) and as I was trying to thread a needle the other day and positively could not w/out my glasses that u made realize that I even needed! duh.. well it’s even hard getting through that eye if ur thread much less; YeAh. So in the words of Aaliyah “Hey sexy babay” Jk Hold on, Stay strong, Press on……..

I loved the interview! Could listen to Prince talking for hours, and he was very sweet and quite talkative. I hope he won’t have any serious problems with whatever has been causing his flashes of vertigo! Wishing I could be in Toronto, nevertheless I am excited he is going to be on stage again! Rock on, Prince, you are the best, always!!!

Epilepsy doesn’t really go away, it does come back off and on. So when he mentioned that he’s been having flashes of it lately, I wasn’t really surprised. I have a cousin who went through the same thing. There is a special type of medicine that they have to take in order to minimize the episodes (forgot what it was called), and its usually prescribed by a doctor. Great interview.
