09 Jan Coachella 2012 Line-up Released! Doesn’t Impress The Doc

The official Coachella line up was released today with Radiohead, The Black Keys, Dr. Dre & Snoop Dog and Pulp being announces as acts for the festival. To me, it is not very impressive.

To be honest, it is hard to sell me on festivals because….I’m a diva. I don’t want to be up against some sweaty people, even if it would allow me to see Jarvis Cocker and Pulp rock it out. At The Drive In returns after an 11 year absence and that still is not enough.

This year, the festival extends to 2 weekends.  2 weekends of overpriced water and food items.  Woo hoo!  Ahem.  Not really.

Radiohead has never done it for me. I have tremendous respect for The Black Keys…just not enough to justify putting up with a Coachella crowd. Snoop Dog and Dr. Dre together again. Still….not enough.

Perhaps if I was hooked up by Goldenvoice and had use of its private facilities, I would enjoy it. For those that know the Doc well…i can be somewhat cockshy…or pee shy when it comes to having to use a port a potty. Again, I know I am a diva. I didn’t even attend Coachella when Prince rocked it.

    wait, are we taking pop culture pointers from the guy that says the 21 jump street trailer is great?

    i think not.

    while i agree with you (shudder) on the fact that festivals don’t do it for me – this line up is pretty damn good.

    I bet if washed up acts like Prince or TheOriginal7 or watered-down “funky” chicks like Nikki Costa were there you’d be less cockshy. Great lineup!!
