Legendary Composer Clare Fischer Passes Away At 83
Legendary composer Clare Fischer who has worked with Prince, Paul McCartney, Celine Dion, Tori Amos, Chaka Khan, and Robert Palmer, has died at the age of 83.
His official web site has been updated with his passing.
Clare released his first recording in 1962 and during that time would make arrangements for artists such as Sergio Mendes. In the 70's, he formed a latin band called "Salsa Picante," and won a Grammy as part of that group in 1981. That followed with working with The Jacksons, Debarge, and Atlantic Star.
In 1985, Fischer started working with music icon Prince on his "Parade" record. he also worked on Prince's "Pink Cashmere" "The One" and "Goodbye". Clair and Prince continued to work together as recently as Prince's "Te Amo Corazon" released on his number 1 album "3121" recorded in 2005. Prince heard of his writing through Rufus and Chaka Khan whose drummer was Clair's nephew.
Interestingly enough, although Prince and Clare worked with each other for over 30 years, they never met.
"I never met Prince and I was informed by people who had been with him when asked about meeting me that he said "I don't want to meet him." It's going just fine as it is."
Clare felt the reason that him and Prince worked together for so long is because they hadn't met personally.
We have contacted Prince's people regarding a comment about Clare's passing but have not heard anything back yet. Prince had this to say about Clare a few years ago for his work on "Parade";
"Special thanks 2 Clare Fischer 4 making brighter the colors of black & white."
Clare Fischer's talent and compositions will be heard for generations to come. How would Clare wish to be remembered?
"I may die a poor man, but I will have a smile on my face"-Clair Fischer 1991

Video: Seal Talks Exclusively To Tavis Smiley About Divorce
Seal talked candidly about the news of Heidi Klum divorcing him with Tavis Smiley today. Seal said "the break-up will not be nasty as they are not those kind of people" to Tavis.
The way Tavis has conducted himself over the years and interviewing and knowing Seal helped him be able to ask the question and have Seal talk about the divorce.
Seal remained cool and collected, all while still wearing his wedding ring.
Seal said that they will remain civil. Reports today said that the main reason for Heidi and him separating were because of Seal's temper that he cannot control and has lost it in front of their kids.
Seal says that "their love hasn't changed at all" and it "is difficult times" for him.
Him wearing the wedding ring and the way he talked, it seems that he is hoping that things can be worked out by remaining civil.
All marriages have hard times, and if the reports of Seal's anger is part of the marriage falling apart, here is hoping that he works on it and that the marriage can be saved or salvaged.-DocFB

Joe Paterno Passes Away At The Age Of 85
Legendary Penn State college football coach Joe Paterno passed away this morning at the age of 85 years old.
Paterno was coach of Penn State for 46 years until being fired this past November for a sex scandal that rocked the sports world. An assistant of his, Jerry Sandusky had sexual abuse allegations leveled against him, and Paterno reported it to the athletic director, but not the police.
Shortly after he was let go, it was announced that Paterno had a treatable form of lung cancer. He passed away due to complications from lung cancer.
His family has released this statement to the media;
"He died as he lived. He fought hard until the end, stayed positive, thought only of others and constantly reminded everyone of how blessed his life had been. His ambitions were far reaching, but he never believed he had to leave this Happy Valley to achieve them. He was a man devoted to his family, his university, his players and his community."
It really is something that so shortly after he no longer coaches the team, he passes away. He was 85 years old and still coaching. He broke his hip on previous occasions and would still coach the team. It is unfortunate this scandal tainted his last days at Penn State. I do believe he will be remembered for his accomplishments as a coach and for what he meant to Penn State University.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Paterno family and Penn State University.-DocFB

Seal Set To Appear On Ellen This Week; Will He Talk Divorce?
Seal is slated to appear on "The Ellen Show" this week and we wonder if Ellen will go there with Seal while he is on the show to promote his latest CD?
There is also a chance that Seal drops out of the appearance all together. He tweeted earlier this month that he knew Ellen can dance but wanted to know if she was good at "the slow grind" when he is on.
As reported earlier, TMZ is stating that Heidi Klum will file for divorce from Seal this week, her husband of almost 7 years. Seal has a new cd of soul covers, entitled Soul 2, coming out this Tuesday January 24th.
Now, is the divorce really going down the same week that he has a new CD coming out?
I guess we will find out sooner or later when or if Seal appears on Ellen.-DocFB

Did Seal Hint At Divorce By Performing “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore” On Letterman?
Seal performed "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" on The Late Show With David Letterman earlier this week, to promote his upcoming new CD, "Soul 2" or was it a hint of things to come?
His new CD, which is due this week, and according to TMZ, Heidi Klum will file for divorce the same week as the CD is released.
There are several other songs that are more upbeat than "Love Don't Love Here Anymore" on the CD, such as soul classics as "Love TKO" and "I'll Be Around" and ones that Seal could use in the future such as "Let's Stay Together" and "Lean On Me" instead.
We also have to wonder if these divorce rumors are fueled to promote the album?
Divorcing your hubby the week your album drops is somewhat tacky is it not?-DocFB
