New Years Eve will never be the same. Dick Clark, America’s oldest teenager, has died of a heart attack at the age of 82.

Paul Shefrin, Clark’s spokesman, broke the story of his passing, stating that Clark had a massive heart attack this morning.  He died at St. John’s hospital here in Los Angeles, where he was having outpatient surgery last night.

Clark was a diabetic type 2, which helped contribute to the stroke in 2004.

Clark had a massive stroke in 2004 but continued to host “New Years Rocking Eve” adding Ryan Seacrest on as co-host.  “Eve” was created in 1972.

Along with “Eve”, Dick Clark created and hosted American Bandstand, the pop equivalent to “Soul Train” where such artists as Madonna and Prince made their Television debuts.  He also was behind the Golden Globes and produced several other shows including The American Music Awards.

Dick Clark will be missed and remembered for what he did for the music world.  It is quite sad to me that we lost Clark and Don Cornelius in the same year.-DocFB

Diagnosis:  We are going hopping…..
