Fdeluxe (Formerly The Family) Respond To Prince’s “Mutiny”!

Earlier this week, PRINCE released a rehearsal jam exclusively to drfunkenberry.com of "Mutiny/Ice Cream Castles" a response of sorts to if former bands in his Purple Court could open up for him in Australia.

Paul Peterson aka St. Paul of Fdeluxe (Formerly The Family) received the track before anyone else last week....and responded in play to his former boss.  They felt Prince was having a little fun with the band, so they thought they would return the serve.

Fdeluxe is Paul Peterson, Susannah Melvoin, Eric Leeds, and Jellybean Johnson.

The response?  "Hot Summer At Menards."  Menards is a home improvement store in the Mid-West for those that may not know.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Hmm.  "Hot Summer" is a song that Prince gave to the radio station The Current in Minneapolis in June of 2010.

Do they have any garden tools?  What do you think of Fdeluxe's response to "Mutiny" and will The Original 7ven/The Time respond as well?  We don't think so, but you never know.  Will you be going to any "Hot Summer" sales?  No?  Ok then.

Will Prince respond to this response with an even funkier rehearsal jam?  Stay tuned........-DocFB

Video: Katy Perry Takes American Idol To Boot Camp

What is hotter than Katy Perry in military fatigues? Not much, quite frankly.

Katy made her yearly American Idol performance last night. Although the song appears to be about her soon to be exhusband Russell Brand, she has been dating Flroence & The Machine band member Robert Ackroyd.

The breakdown dance part reminds us of Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation 1814" video expect this time, you needed night vision cameras to see it.

Katy still does not have the best singing voice but I still like that she gives her all to each performance and has heart.-DocFB

Nicki Minaj Rejoins Twitter & Drops New Video “Starships”

Nicki Minaj made sure to put in the "Starships" early in the video just to get straight to the skin. The star re-joined Twitter a couple of days before the video dropped.

More than likely, her record label pleaded with Nicki to get her Twitter account back. Finding ways to reach 10 million fans and then not reach them will make a record label blink 3 times fast.  The sar deleted her Twitter after leaks of her CD and most of her music was being downloaded for free.

The video shows Nicki in an outfit that will make sure the next time Kim Kardashian is shown on a beach, she will wear less fabric than Miss Minaj.

The song is catchy and drops a few "s" and "f" bombs just for the heck of it.  It will not be the jam of the summer, but you will be hearing a lot of it....and seeing a lot of it as well.  Unlike her last video, BET did not feel this was dirty enough to not have on when they actually play videos.-DocFB

Adam Lambert Performs “Never Close Our Eyes” & “Naked Love” On Kimmel! Watch Now!

Adam Lambert performed "Never Close Our Eyes" & "Naked Love" from his new CD "Trespassing" due for release on May 15th, on The Jimmy Kimmel Show.

The mini concert was recorded live outside of Kimmel at the Hollywood in the parking lot across the street from Hollywood & Highland. It was right across the street to the theatre formerly known as Kodak to where Adam became an American Idol just a few years ago.

"Naked Love" features a lyric from Crystal Waters 90's hit "100 Percent Pure Love" and we approve!

What do you guys think of Adam's performance?-DocFB

The photo of the moment is of Adam Lambert at AOL Sessions. Adam taped AOL Sessions yesterday and will be performing on Jimmy Kimmel tonight.

This photo showed up in our timeline so not sure where it originated from but we know the photo is from Alan Larsen.

Here is hoping that Adam performs 2 songs on Kimmel tonight.  Usually, it is one that airs and then a 2nd that is online only.

One of the songs more than likely will be "Never Close Our Eyes" which is his latest single off of "Trespassing" his new CD which will be everywhere May 15th.

Lamberts, IF there is a 2nd song tonight performed, what would U want it to be?

Anyone know when the AOL Sessions taping will be put up?-DocFB

Fun Perform “We Are Young” On Letterman

If you have had your TV on the background while doing stuff, you have more than likely heard "We Are Young" by Fun. The song is everywhere.

We dig the song. Not so sure about that tongue action at the end but ok then.

The original and video version feature Janelle Monae where Fun are dressed much better than thier Letterman appearance.

Does anyone know if Janelle has performed the song live with Fun?

Hope you enjoy the performance!-DocFB

Throwback Thursday: Def Leppard “Pour Some Sugar On Me”

Its Throwback Thursday and we are kicking it off with "Pour Some Sugar On Me" by Def Leppard.

The song still kicks.....even if you are blasting it in your car or at the strip club.

That guitar riff.....the lyrics.....something something "knocking on my door"...ahh yea.

I'm sure everyone has good thoughts and memories when this song comes on, right?-DocFB
