With the news of Prince having a new guest drummer in Hannah Ford, we knew it wouldn't be long until news of an upcoming tour would be happening. Within hours, "Welcome 2 Chicago" appears to be happening.
Prince reportedly will be taking residency at the United Center in Chicago starting September 24th and and with tickets going on sale September 6th.
The residency will also be used to support Rebuild the Dream, the organization founded by Van Jones that seeks to “build strong vibrant communities and to fix our economy from the ground up.”
“We couldn’t be more excited about partnering with a legend like Prince,” said Van Jones, Co-founder and President of Rebuild the Dream. “Our economic system is broken. Rebuild the Dream exists to unite arts and organize into a potent force to support the Dreams of Our Communities. There are few artists who have Prince’s unwavering commitment to a vision of a sustainable, fair economic future.”
Rebuild the Dream is a platform for bottom-up, people-powered innovations to help fix the economy not just here in the U.S. but Globally as well. Using 21st-century digital technology, we advance highly inventive solutions that are designed to protect and expand our communities, while creating pathways to prosperity for those who are locked out of it. Our goal is to put People back to work–and pull our communities back together.
There is already an on sale page set up for the September 24th show on ticketmaster.com
Chicago and the Midwest, are you ready?-DocFB
We just received this breaking news out of Paisley Park;
Hannah Ford has been added as guest drummer to PRINCE's touring band, the New Power Generation.
She is currently in Chanhassen, Minnesota taking photos and has apparently has been there on 2 other occasions with her husband Joshua jamming with Prince and several members of the band...
Details are sketchy right now but we are promised more info as furute plans become more solid.
The photo above is one of the new shots taken by Justine Walpole.
I have included videos of Hanna doing an improv drum solo and drumming to Skrillex's "Hey Sexy Lady" for those that may not be familiar with her drumming technique.-DocFB
After 6 seasons, the Jersey Shore will be leaving the MTV airwaves. No more Snooki. No more J-Wowww. No more Situation. No more Pauly D. Well...that is not exactly true.
Snooki and J. Wowww have their own MTV show (Snooki And JWowww) now and so does Pauly D. (The Pauly D. Project.) but the rest of the Jersey Shore cast does not.
Season 6 of the Jersey Shore will debut on October 4th on MTV.-DocFB
This tour was supposed to last a few years and with the band getting tired out and now Eddie Van Halen's emergency surgery, it now appears it really will last a few years.
Eddie Van Halen had successful emergency surgery for a severe bout of diverticulitis. That is quite painful.
There is no further surgery needed but Eddie will be recovering for the next 4-6 months.
The Japanese leg of the tour will now take place in 2013.
We wish Eddie and speedy recovery. We hope the pain subsides soon.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Below is video from the rehearsal show at The Forum earlier this year.
So by now, you've heard that during Madonna's MDNA tour, she either takes out her breast and exposes it to the audience or flashes her 54 year old in shape booty. All the while, she takes a jab at Lady Gaga for "Born This Way" sounding too similar to her own hit "Express Yourself" from the 80's.
Well, Gaga had enough this week. She flashed her own butt at her show and said: " 'I don’t give a f*** what people say. We don’t give a f***. We know the truth." This is a direct response to "I Don't Give A" by Madonna.
Gaga's butt is quite athletic. Madonna's seems pretty tight. Wait. Aren't we supposed to be talking about their tours and the music here? Well, if they want that, lift up your pants!
Quick! Someone make sure that Elton John doesn't try to start pulling down his pants at his concerts soon.
Whose side (cheeks) are U on?-DocFB
Wil.I.Am was in a car accident with former X Factor host Cheryl Cole after a late night recording studio session.
Wil hit a parked car with his Cadillac. A parked car. Hmm.
The Black Eyed Peas singer was treated for a bloody nose and whiplash at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Cheryl was treated on scene and was not taken to the hospital.
The duo were reportedly recording together and on their way home when Wil hit the parked car.-DocFB
Diagnosis: "I Got A Feeling" that there is more to this story than we think. Man, that parked car came out of nowhere!
Here is the first performance of "You Got What You Wanted" by fDeluxe, a cover of the Ike & Tina Turner classic. This is from their concert in NYC last night, August 29th.
