Exclusive! Photo Of The Moment: PRINCE & Jennifer Hudson + More

Night 2 of PRINCE’s “Welcome 2 Chicago” tour featured such classics such as “I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man”, “Shhh”, and “She’s Always In My Hair” and then powerful version of “Nothing Compares 2 U” with Chicago’s own Jennifer Hudson.

His afterjam was nothing short of spectacular at the House of Blues kicking off a high energy set with “Days of Wild” and “Dance Electric” and also featured Hannah Ford, the special guest drummer for the NPG, along with John Blackwell.

Also, if you attended the House of Blues afterjam on Monday, you can attend the concert tonight at the United Center for FREE! For more details, click here!

We want to thank PRINCE & The NPG for exclusively sharing the photos of Prince and Jennifer Hudson on stage together along with the photos of Damaris Lewis and The NPG Hornz. I put in a request late last night to share the photo with you all and I appreciate them providing it.

I hope you all enjoy them.-DocFB

I was at the Monday night concert with my 2nd wife. It was her first Prince concert (my 8th or so). We couldn’t afford good seats having just spent $2700 to fix a transmission so we were in the nose bleed seats. The sound quality of Monday night’s show was pretty bad but it was still fun. We waited the entire 45 minutes for the last encore to start when the lights came up. Everyone started to leave including us, but we took our time. I explained he’s never done this before at any of the concerts I’ve ever been to and how shocked I was. We got down to the 1st floor and heard music coming from the arena again. We ran back in – much much closer now – and listed to the band start jamming again. Prince ran right past us, back toward the stage where he eventually came out on (after taking care of whatever business they do underneath that stage). So we got to be there for the last encore. It was incredible. We were down close and the sound quality was much better. To us, it was a gift to listen to a few more songs in a more intimate setting especially since it was her first concert. We never went down to the House of Blues because we simply couldn’t afford it. I have yet to be to an aftershow.

I really feel for those who left early or went down to the House of Blues and didn’t get their money’s worth. It seems to me he cared enough to try and make up for it (even said at the follow-up concerts, “We alright Chicago?”) – something I don’t think he’s done before. All I know is I’m grateful my wife and I got to be there and Dr. Funkenberry keeps me in the loop. Thank you thank you thank you!

As I looked at the pic of Prince and Jennifer Hudson, it just came to me. They are both Oscar Winners. Prince for original music in 1985 for Purple Rain and Jennifer for Dreamgirls…too cool and priceless!

So, the people on Monday nigh get shafted, and he put on one good performance and everything is supposed to be all better… This is so messed up. He was incredibly rude for everything he did at the United Center, and also what he did at the House of Blues.

Experiencing Prince live for almost 30 years I knew he could redeem himself for Monday night & he truly did. I’m so proud of him. Prince is so discipline even still after all these years in the music business. Wish I could have witnessed that duet. Bet it was fire!!

    Prince is a class act

What would be utterly cool is letting us know the names if the 11 hornz players, so that everyone can acknowledge who they are and their own stuff.

    Just saying.
