PRINCE Offers FREE Tickets To Concert For Those Who Attended Monday’s House Of Blues Show!

Following what happened Monday night at the House of Blues Official Purple Afterjam with the police shutting down the event for curfew, Prince along with HOB and the United Center are offering every person who attended the House of Blues show on Monday a FREE ticket to his concert Wednesday night at the United Center.

As was posted earlier, Prince was going to do everything he could do to rectify what happened on Monday.  So on that note, everyone who was at the House of Blues show Monday is now going to be able to go to the United Center Show Wednesday.

Emails for ticket-holders should have already started going out.  Just bring your I.D. along with your House of Blues ticket for Monday’s show and they will give you a non-transferable ticket to the show starting at 5 p.m., when gates open.

We have heard from those in attendance at Tuesday’s United Center show that the sound was much better.  He also did a killer performance of “I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man” and also for good measure “Shhh”, “She’s Always In My Hair” and a duet of “Nothing Compares 2 U” with Chicago native Jennifer Hudson.

Also, the Mayor just cleared PRINCE to play as long as he wants at the House of Blues shows!!!-DocFB

Prince more than made up for something that was not his fault (the missed up sound system..the curfew laws at the HOB). Folks that have been following Prince and his music as long as I, know how he does it. If it’s not right, he’s not having it..period! Yes, folks came from overseas to witness this epic event and for them, I am sadden but it was only fair to give the man a chance to make it up and that he did!!! LOVE U Prince!

Is it “Feeling The Funk” or Felling the Funk which one is it? Because the funk “failed” and “fell”. Those younger days of shut up and be grateful are over! I don’t settle for mediocrity when money is on the line. If that was the case Prince would not have replaced the sound people because he knows he can’t settle for mediocrity. His workmanship or work ethic was never at question anyway! Sometimes you just have to do what’s right by people that support you over the years! Jus sayin’!

I think its bad in all that most of you saw a bad show on Monday, but but but, you also saw reeal music being played live!!!!!! most acts these days are on the auto-tune or the lip sync. Its a shame that a sound issue came up but that’s bound to happen in all live gigs where you just ain’t pushing play! it was $ 100.00 bucks and you saw Prince get over it, that fact that you saw the man take in account of the hard work he put out there to provide the best for you. Murphys law man.

I agree with all the above. I’ve been a fan of yours and been to soo many concerts. I have never been disappointed as I was Monday. I spent good money and was very disappointed. I think for the Monday folks we should get a re do concert!

    Dear Mr. Prince,

I applaud you trying to make right the wrongs of Monday Night. I was in attendance at the main show and as a lifelong fan it still has me with a bad taste in my mouth. I hear your other shows were off the chain but I had to witness the disaster of Monday after spending big loot.

Not only was the sound terrible but you insulted me by starting with the EXACT same set that you played when you accepted the NAACP Vanguard back in 2005. What was fresh about that? Did you think no one watched that? I am sooo tired of people telling me how their experiences were… when I saw my money go down the drain from a show I was wishing they would turn the band’s sound down just so I could her your voice! I don’t normally complain (did I mention I waited an hour and some before you came on stage?) but…… that was pretty lame what you did dog!

I agree with Jim, there should be some compensation for the people who attended Monday’s show. It started an hour late and it was terrible compared to Tuesday’s show.

What about the people that experience the bazaar show at the United Center on Monday. I guess he doesnt care about those fans. Sure its nice to give free tickets to a few fans who went to the House of Blues, but how about the 20,000 fans that showed up Monday night at $100 a ticket, and got a crappy show.

I knew he’d make it up to his fans! Good job P!

Last nights show was apparently off the hook! Three encores and he played his guitar like crazy!

It’s a nice gesture, and the very least(ah, I guess there are lesser leasts…) Prince could do. Of course, Prince could just play the Chicagoland area for the next month or so too, recording and filming everything, then release the material as ‘Thank U 2 Chicago’……

Prince & NPG & Andy Allo along with The Rebuild Organization have all worked tirelessly to make sure that everyone attending concert & afterparty have a great time and we know Prince,Andy & band members were even more disappointed &upset then the fans when technical difficulties occurred. Prince, my brother said thank you all for a fantastic time ! Chicago, It’s Gonna Be A Beautiful Nite : )

I think P learnt from the HIFi bar in Melbourne Australia.
I was there, waiting at the front row with several friends,& tho it was advertised as a PARTY ONLY, when we saw a stage set with drums, THREE BACKGROUND MICS, & John Blackwell & Cassie soundchecking for a couple of minutes (John threw one of his drumsticks at me which I caught :))) … we all assumed that the tour was going to end with a bang & for the special price of $25 as a treat for dedicated fans.
Yes the place was filled with 80% non-fans & druggoids, but P also may have realised that there are always dedicated fans at Afterparties/shows who sometimes wait all their lives for a legendary aftershow.
GOOD ON U & WELL DONE PRINCE for coming thru in Chi-Town.
NOW, how about some $29.50 tickets for Aussies next time 😉

That’s only fair. Prince has done very well and certainly reassured by many minds again. Too bad he has not done anything in Cologne / Germany. Perhaps there will also still a nice touch.

Katerina: another way of looking at this is that this is in RESPONSE to the protests and outrage expressed by disappointed customers. So maybe they should be thanked for raising such a ruckus to generate this response.

This is good customer relations. Good to see Prince & his management do this.
