Prince can write and produce the best music of his life and it will not get any radio play if he don’t play ball with a major record label. They control the the radio stations! It’s not suppose to be that way but thats the way it is. No one in the music industry today can even compete with Prince! They just don’t have the talent. The problem is not his music but the people who want to control him and his music.

I totally agree with 10000 degrees. It’s lonely on Prince island where everyone says everything you do is great. When in the real world 99% of people know it’s crap. The shame about it all is that it doesn’t have to be like this. Everyone needs help sometime. Get rid of the yes men (or should I say yes women) and get some true songwriting colleagues. Who aren’t going to sugar coat it when your music sucks it hard.

The way Prince sold the Musicology album with concert tickets worked out very well for him and he could sell this one in the same way. I think that he is releasing overseas because that is where he get the most respect as far as radio play! They have put so much garbage on the radio in the U.S. and thats all the kids know!

To really give it a boost, he should have included his studio version (the LONG one) and a live version of the Dance Electric…not saying I don’t like the song, and I completely disagree with10000Degrees, most of Prince’s albums released in the 2000’s have been stellar, some of the best work he’s ever done, who cares about being commercial, most of what’s on the radio is terrible and will sound dated within 3 years, best to stick with what’s timeless and original…sure the Lotusflow3r set may have been a bit lacking/overreaching (but if you sort it out there’s still a great album plus a slew of “b-sides” once it’s rearranged), but 20Ten, 3121, Musicology, the Rainbow Children, the amazing One Nite Alone…Live ???!!! They are all awesome, bring on a new record, and include a disc of unreleased “b-sides” to appease the haters! The overseas release may only be because that’s where he’s finding a backer…

This is just some more of the same from a guy who has lost touch with the reality that he’s just not writing songs that people want to hear anymore. Sure, each album has one or two tracks that slay but for the most part, his production, arrangements and lyricism are stale and dated. Without some major intervention, this guy can put the nails on the coffin of his studio career.

Who at Paisley is telling him that this song is a potential single that requires a full single release as well as a video?

I think I’m the only one that is very excited about this new single release. I think its also a future US hit single…I like how Prince is slowly promoting it…Building up momentum. Overseas they appreciate real music more anyway..He is on the right track..

This is the 2nd time Prince has released a single or CD only overseas, what’s up with that, is he not from the good old USA or has he divorced himself from us?
