Yes! Lenny Kravitz’s “Are You Gonna Go My Way” Remastered & Deluxe Edition Will Be Released September 24th!

Lenny kravitz Are You Gonna Go My Way Deluxe Edition Cover

Has it really been 20 years since “Are You Gonna Go My Way” from Lenny Kravitz has been released?

In honor of that, on September 24th there will be a 2 CD and digital edition which will have 20 bonus tracks including 10 previously unreleased recordings from Lenny’s personal archive!

From the press release:

Among the new Deluxe Edition’s previously unreleased recordings are six demos and outtakes from the Are You Gonna Go My Way album sessions, as well as three early demos Kravitz recorded for Vanessa Paradis’ self-titled 1992 album, which he produced. “I May Not Be A Star (Light Piece For Vanessa)” has never been released in any form, while “Travelogue” and “Lonely Rainbows” were finished and recorded by Paradis for the album. A previously unreleased BBC Radio interview is also included, and acoustic versions of “Believe,” “Sister,” and “Heaven Help” and seven official B-sides are also featured, completing the commemorative reissue of this epic album.

Trip, I was just going through some old VHSeses and found a Lenny AYGGMW era MTV performance… loved this album when it came out.

BUT, it wasn’t like a “epic” album. It had great songs, very hip at the time. I’m not sure it needed “remastering” either because most music productions by even the early 90’s and CD mastering was pretty good. U2’s Achtung Baby’s remaster what, last year, was great, but it didnt sound any better than the original Redbook CD!

Then again, the bonus tracks seem great. Would like to see an additional DVD of all the music videos.

Brings back a few good memories.

Lenny has no filler songs James. Dr. F thanks for all the info. So looking forward to hearing it. So happy to hear there are some acoustic versions. This album will have some never heard songs to hold me over until he releases his new album in March or April.
QUESTION: Is the NEW ALBUM, not AYGGMY20, but the new one all brand new or is he finishing the album NEGROPHILIA? I really would like to know as I know that had been shelved while he was working on Black and White America.

This is amazing. Lenny puts out the most in-depth, meticulous Deluxe Editions. No filler crap. I can’t wait for this third release in the anniversary series. Thank you Doc for always being ahead of others and so detailed. So excited to hear these “in-progress” songs. Those are the real treats, even more exciting than finished songs!
