I was really hoping for a May release as was originally planned, but December isn’t that bad.  I guess the delay is because Michael Arndt (who wrote Toy Story 3 and also the first draft of the Episode VII script) was fired, and Abrams is now rewriting the script along with Lawrence Kasdan.
Star Wars junkies like me know that Kasdan wrote most of the dialogue for “The Empire Strikes Back,” which is widely seen as the best film in the franchise.  Disney has A LOT riding on Episode VII, so I hope Abrams and co. use the extra time to make it the best it can be.  I can’t wait to see it!
