Andy Allo stopped by Good Day NY this morning for an interview and performance of her song "Long Gone" from her incredible album "Superconductor" which is available now.
Andy talked about describing her music as soul and funk. She incorporates it all in music, mind, body, and soul.
Andy also talked about the challenge of working with Prince and her excitement of working with him that made her better.
In an awkward moment, the female "newscaster" tried to do what we think was a Prince impersonation...or maybe it was Justin Bieber or something. "Call the police" was the right response.
The performance of "Long Gone" shows what we see in Andy. A talent who had a successful 20Twelve and should have an even more successful 20Thirteen.-DocFB
Hello funkenbabies. Trying to give you the downlow and what is happening on Kimmel so check back for more updates...
Andy performed all in white with a 12 piece band that included Maceo Parker. She performed "People Pleaser" and "If I Was King" off her "Superconductor" record due 11/20/12.
Prince & The NPG performed "Rock & Roll Love Affair" and a web exclusive version of "Dance Electric" (You will see it at the end of credits but a full version will be available on Jimmy Kimmel's site and here tomorrow.
After the camera's stopped rolling and loud chants of "We Want Prince", Prince performed "Take Me With U" but something was wrong with his guitar, which was working fine for the past 2 numbers. He had Andy do full vocals, picked up an acoustic guitar, n that one wasn't tuned right.
Prince then stopped the band and went into "Raspberry Beret" and then "Cream" complete with a Maceo solo.
Prince closed out the show doing a long version of "Cool".....
Now, it is on the Sayers Club for the Kimmel afterjam. Here is hoping there will be more shows that fans get a chance to go to later this week.....-DocFB
Like her excellent performances on The Ellen Show, Nicki kept it clean. We dig that!
Check out the performances from today on....er...."Today" yea, that't it.-DocFB
George Michael has just confirmed the rumors and officially announced he is performing at the closing ceremonies of this years Olympic games.
George took to his twitter to express his nervousness about performing at the closing ceremonies and him have not been able to perform for over a year:
Obviously a bit nervous not having played for nearly a year, but rehearsals sounding great so far!
George has a life-threatening illness last year that left him with no voice and losing a considerable amount of weight. Aside from a press conference after his release where he thanked the doctors for saving his life, George has been pretty much out of the public eye. he does have dates in Australia set for later this year.
George has not announced which songs he will be performing but we have a feeling it will be jam-packed with his hits from the 80's, and 90's, and hopefully a never before released song....because as much as I LOVE George, that last song was.....not even worthy of a bronze medal.
Are you looking forward to George Michael's performance at the closing ceremonies?-DocFB
D'Angelo dropped some new music during his House Of Blues 4th Of July show on the Sunset Strip. The new song is entitled "The Charade" and we are not sure what happened to the audio around the 2:12 mark but Jesse Johnson's solo still kills!
Although D'Angelo did NOT play "Untitled" he did play "Lady" which had the women shouting things that could have been shouted after the song. Check out the performance of "Lady" below.
We want to thank Cody aka darklotus69 for providing the exclusive footage above for us.
What do you think of D'Angelo's new song "The Charade" and the classic "Lady" live performances?-DocFB
Here is your first look at photos of D'Angelo's House Of Blues Sunset show in July 4th. The photos are amazing. We will have a full review of this show shortly and a few other surprises for you here on Funkenberry.com
Karmin took the stage L.A. Pride this weekend performing their megahit "Brokenhearted" for the pride crowd.
The youtube found group rocked out for crowd. The audio on this clip sounds better than the other ones we found. We found one closer below, but as you can see, the audio becomes distorted. Hopefully, someone can mesh the close up clip with the audio from the one above.
Check out the clips above and let us know what you think!-DocFB
