Jessica Simpson was on Oprah Winfrey yesterday where she discussed John Mayer’s comments about her in a Playboy Interview he did last month.

Roger Ebert is appearing on Oprah today. Unlike her usual interviews, this one is with someone who can no longer speak for himself. In 2006, Ebert lost his ability to speak after undergoing  jaw removal surgery during his battle with thyroid cancer.

Since then, Ebert has continued to work, sharing his opinions on cinema via his blog and Twitter. And when he needs to speak, he relies on his Mac which uses a computerized voice to read out his thoughts as he types. But until recently, he’s been limited to the built-in voices on the computer.

Today on Oprah, Ebert will debut something new – his own voice, computerized. He partnered with a company called CereProc to produce a computerized voice that sounds very much like him. How did they do it? CereProc combed through hours of Ebert’s audio from DVD commentaries he had done, grabbing words along the way to build out his computerized vocabulary.

The result is that for the first time in four years, Ebert feels like he can speak in his own voice. And he plans to use it in many ways:

What will I use this voice for? I could talk with Chaz [Ebert's wife] and our grandchildren — and it would be me, not Alex. I could do audio for Webcasts, talking under clips from movies I’m describing. I could do radio. I could tell jokes.

Oprah Winfrey is gonna have a packed show today.  Not only will she give the behind the scenes details of the commercial she did with Jay Leno and David Letterman,  she will have Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees from the New Orleans Saints and wife and baby boy on the show.

Also, Lionel Richie will perform a special Valentines Day performance.  For those who are not from the 80’s, that is Nicole Richie’s father.

You might want to make sure you catch today’s episode of Oprah as it looks pretty star studded.-Dr.FB

The Super Bowl had some pretty horrible commercials, where it seems advertisers forgot to entertain and at the most, make you laugh.

The biggest surprise, however, was the Late Show With David Letterman commercial which featured David Letterman, Oprah Winfrey and….Jay Leno?  Yup. 

Shortly after the commercial aired, Oprah revealed on her Twitter that the commercial was filmed in Dave’s studio undercover with all 3 of them.

It was one of the shorter commercials but effective.  What do you think of the commercial?  Am I right that the commercials were hella lackluster this year?-Dr.FB

Today is Jay Leno’s interview on Oprah and from the clip above, it doesn’t look like it’s going to salvage Jay’s nice guy image.

Oprah pressed Jay about whether he should have retired. Jay (and his ego) responded with “To me, being retired seemed like the selfish thing to do. I mean is it selfish that I still like being on TV? Oh yeah, sure.”

Jay also took a hard jab at Conan and his lack of success with the Tonight Show. “The minute you can’t do the job, they do tap you on the shoulder and tell you to leave.” Ouch.

Oprah is a longtime friend of Jay’s, they’ve appeared on each other’s shows before. Looks like she caught him in a tired, frustrated moment and he let his guard down a bit, revealing his cutthroat side. But then again, the TV business has never been wholesome.

Justin raised over 9 million for his favorite hospital, the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Madonna, surprisingly to me, was number 2 with over 5 million to the Raising Malawi foundation.

Oprah Winfrey announced something yesterday that she has been saying she will do for years; leave her talk show.

Oprah will make the official announcement today on her show, which is the last show of the year.  Oprah will be announcing that the last show will be on September 9th, 2011.  The date is important as it will be 25 years since Oprah started doing the show.

Earlier this week, some stations were saying they were not going to re-up the Oprah show as the fee that is charged by her Harpo production company is just too much for them to handle.

She is laying the ground for Dr. Oz to take over her time slot with stations.  Oprah has done a lot for TV and some say even swayed votes for Obama when he was running against Hillary Clinton for the Democratic ticket.

I am love love loving her curls. Reminds me of her of 1990 when she debuted. Wow. Almost 20 years in the business. Still hitting that crazy booty high note.
