ANDY ALLO’s 2nd CD entitled “Superconductor” will be released early this summer. The CD contains 6 self-penned tracks and 3 songs co-written with Prince.
The 3 songs written with Prince are “Superconductor”, “The Calm”, and “Gone”.
Special guests on the CD so far include Maceo Parker, Trombone Shorty, The NPG, The Hornheadz and of course-PRINCE, who also executive produced the record.
The CD is in the final stages of post-production but we have a sample provided to us exclusively by Miss Allo-herself of one of the songs Prince featured on his most recent tour of Europe.

Posted at 02:38h, 11 MarchI think I agree with Fiona, Andy just wasn’t meant to be funky (or be an amazing guitar player). Prince turned her into something she is not (even look-wise). I guess that’s how it works… Hopefully she’ll stop working with Prince after this album and go back to doing her own thing. (and I’d LOVE a new Prince album too :))

She has no depth and her attempt at a vocal style is so forced into every word she sings that it comes off as completely devoid of real emotion so the listeners wont be able to connect with her. I doubt this will be a big success in the music world and FUNKY Andy is not, at all. Nor is she a good enough guitar player to promote pictures like these holding an instrument she has only beginner level ability to play. A coffee house singer with sweats, tank top and leather jacket is who she really is. Prince is not doing her a big favor here tryin to morph her into this fictitious image in his mind IMO. Id really prefer a new Prince album, an album he puts his guts and heart into!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted at 23:09h, 09 MarchHer voice is not where its at, lo siento. Shes a cute girl though, she should stick to acting and modeling. I liked her as Tee Tee’s girlfriend on”the Game”. That’s more her speed.
And I’m confused as to how Prince would push her solo album out of all people, considering that all of his background vocalists from W2A and even his keyboard player can sing better than this.

Posted at 23:08h, 09 MarchI’ve never been a fan of Prince Protege’s… I’m still making my decision about Andy. But this particular song…. YAWN! If the song doesn’t have me coming back to listen to it over again, I’m over it. The only Andy song I like is “Oui can love” which was a prince cover. I just wish Prince would stop it already… Give the fans what they want, and that’s YOU! not Andy… we also DON’T want another 20(ten). Give us a great full album with some instruments on it. Good music with depth. The Prince we know, love and want.

Posted at 18:17h, 09 MarchAs much as I try to love her voice, she just hasn’t got the funk and Prince promoting this as funk is a disgrace to any funk lover and any funk artist that came before Prince. Andy Allo is into funk since she’s in the NPG, this doesn’t make somebody unfunky – FUNKY.
Prince knows this, bring back the funk! No pseudo anymore please!
