Esperanza Spalding performed “Black Gold” along with “Crowned & Kissed” on The Daily Show With Jon Stewart.  The Daily Show is not known for its musical guests performers but we were glad to see Esperanza getting shine from the political show.

We have been digging the groove of “Black Gold” and her new CD “Radio Music Society” for a minute.


Radio Music Society is more than her CD title. It actually is the name of her band…and she is taking members as you can see in the clip above.

We could not agree more with Jon’s comment about Esperanza stating “I feel like you should be as twice as large as you are with the talent you have.”

So true, don’t you think?-DocFB

    I like Esperanza, but both of those songs were awful! They were flat… a downright musical bore.

    Black Gold has a great message, but it’s poorly delivered and the musical composition goes absolutely nowhere.
