In the middle of the night, this FUNK landed in our inbox along with this message…..

On April 17, 2012, several bystanders in the streets of Chanhassen, Minnesota saw Paisley Park swaying back and forth 2 the sound of “Days of Wild and Loose”. This is a copy of the 19 minute rehearsal of that jam!

Thank U,
Prince and The New Power Generation

i used to really like terence trent darby and then i started to like prince, especially when my dad asked the music store for the best album–diamonds and pearls it was.
in prince;s music you don’t hear business tables banging and it is enlightening when he speaks about injustices in the world. with the only exception he can consult me and enquiry more about doctrines of first 3 centuries of the early church. no problem.
a bad prince album is still better than most albums. because he music draws the narrative and the story. using instruments to personify themselves with character and oozing creativity. although some of it sounds like improvising from straight blues jazz.
i got my mum back in 1995 to pay for a prince collaboration of 3 albums for 50 bucks– so his music reminds me of late high school years.
the underlining message i got from prince album was the love to produce myself and creativity and not any highly charged sexual inuendo.
can’t wait for the next album.

Love the song. Has it really been 17 years! Damn. This is not bad, but back in the day…it was so much more dangerous. Maybe cause I was mid twenties hanging with sexy girls at Paisley. Maybe it was the Wild sign we flashed, the angry Prince still given a finger to the industry, could a been the way we chanted “play that MF bass” or a scantly clad Mayte shaking her money maker at at 3am. Yeah this is a cool version, but those were truly the Days of the Wild. Love the tune, wish it were still 1995!!

It sounds good. It’ll be great to hear what “older” songs Prince re-releases begining January 2013…per the Copyright Act of 1976, which went into effect January 1, 1978…

Reminds me of when he came back out AFTER the ugly lights went on at the end of the 3rd Sydney concert. I’ve always had a policy of not leaving a concert until the house lights are on no matter how long… as we saw from the first concert. Luckily my wife and I took our 7 year old son this time and it took a little bit of extra time to get ready to leave, otherwise we would have missed it. I thought for a second that he was going to do the after party right then and there! “Oh by the way, I play bass guitar!”

I DO like it, but just reminds me what a cool song, DOW is.. the only problem I have is the girls going into the Chaka song.. it just doesn’t fit the song for me.. but other than that it had me Groovin’! Thanks Doc and NPG!

To anyone who thinks that Prince cursed in this song, listen again: it’s quite clearly “Hooker WITCH and ho.” Definitely NOT bitch. Guess what else? It’s not 1994 or 1995 anymore… indeed that line up of the NPG kicked ass, but it’s a brand new day and this is, as Dudley Perkins would say: “Fonk with a O.” Minneapolis Style.

he is guilty because he is may be starting to realise that youtube is free press for his concerts where he is making millions.
even prince has to be reminded, before falling for a fallen god complex that it is a rare privilege to be able to perform and have your music listened to .
thats the essence of true music and what he claimed to stand for.
i have bought all his albums, but i still like to check out his video clips on youtube and this you cannot have in your possession.
video clip productions equals sales for prince’s concerts. or the visual effect. i did not go to his last concert in australia though. i am infatuated for martika and her new song go with the flow.[ creativity is oozing out of this piece and her concert tickets are cheaper plus she is a girl. i prefer to watch cute girls on stage so i can dream a bit

I’m digging this tune. The keyboard, the wig, the bass and the ahh-haas — its all funk-tastic.

After listening to this for the 50 eleventh time…
I have to say how grateful I am and how much I love that the man is choosing THIS band to go back over some of the Exodus/Gold era material (VERY under-appreciated STILL)
    which leads me to ask…
What would this band do to the LOVESEXY era material?

As for new songs? I can’t believe he sat in that hotel room looking out over sydney harbour, the opera house and the bridge and didn’t find a little bit of creative inspiration!

As for those shows, I’m still Thunderstruck here in sydney….

Not a terrible present for the 8 yr anniversary of meeting the riverman for the last time. Geez need some serious new backup girls, they’re a little high school bland. Prince is still the maestro he needs to be. That’s super cool.
