While you were asleep or doing something you shouldn’t have, PRINCE & 3RDEYEGIRL have unleashed a new rehearsal for “EMPTY ROOM” mixed by Marlon & Demetrius at Paisley Park Studios.

Although a youtube clip so you do not get the best sound of this rehearsal, Prince’s vocals are clean and Donna Grantis’s solo is mesmerizing, although I want more of that solo.

PRINCE & 3RDEYEGIRL will be performing on Saturday Night Live this week with host Chris Rock.

Enjoy it while it is is up. You never know how long it will be.-DocFB

    Not feeling this one at all. You just can’t do better than the version back in the 90s with Michael Bland on drums. He’s the master at getting the groove, emotion, power and feel across. Hannah ain’t got it like he does. Also, while Donna has talent, I’m not interested or impressed. I want PRINCE doing the solo, not her. I really hope he’s not rehearsing this song for Saturday Night Live because the American viewing audience will be bored. If he’s gonna do anything from Plectrum and worth 3rd Eye Girl, he should do the song, “Another Love”. Yes, it’s a cover, but is the ONLY song on the album worth explosive feel.

    This is a nice version, but, Show # 2 from July 2009 at Montreux is still the finest version of ‘Empty Room’.

    Very excited to see what 3rdeyegirl perform…
    and if he does a skit with Chris Rock.
    Btw, going to recording with a VCR, not a DVR. Much better sound.
    Try it and you’ll hear the difference.
