The cult hit "Pitch Perfect" is getting a sequel and Elizabeth Banks will direct "Pitch Perfect 2" and will be in theaters in 2015.
Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson will reprise their roles for the film. This will be the directorial debut for Banks who is 39. Banks produced and co-starred in the first film.
Donna Langley, Universal's head honcho had this to tell THR.
"She brings an enormous amount of energy and experience to everything she works on, and we're thrilled that she is making her feature directorial debut on Pitch Perfect 2."
Banks' husband, producer Max Handelman, and screenwriter Kay Cannon will be involved with the sequel. The first film was directed by Jason Moore.
The movie was a surprise hit at the box office, bringing in more than a $100 million. On DVD and CD releases, the film has generated over $150 million dollars.-DocFB
