Drfunkenberry.com artist Orianthi performed her top 20 smash “According To You”  on American Idol last night and debuted a new hair ‘do.

We are so proud of Orianthi for gracing the stage of American Idol and don’t forget she will be on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno tonight, which also features Janet Jackson.

Robert Pattinson, for reasons unknown to us, was in the San Fernando Valley yesterday and ended up at a used guitar shop in Tarzana, California.

While at Norman’s Rare Guitars, he tried out a Fender Telecaster.  Norman Harris, the owner, recognized R-Patz and asked him to please sign the guitar.

Now, being the nice guy that Robert is, he did sign it and even posed for Norman with the guitar.  How many celebs would do that?

What did Norman do?  Well, he put the guitar up on eBay with a reserve price of 3 grand.  Now, before you think what Norman did was bad, the money does go Midnight Mission Homeless Charity with Norman pocketing nothing.

We do wonder if Pattinson did end up buying a guitar while there though.  The actor wants to be taken seriously as a musician.  That’s something you might be taking a bite of soon Twilight fans.-Dr.FB

We here at DrFunkenberry.com always want to hook you up with new artists on the rise and we think we have one with Jaicko. We think he will push your buttons just right.

While writing this, I had to play Jaicko’s debut song “Fast Forward (FFWD)” which is a great sign for Jaicko if I do say so myself.

We are “Fast Forwarding” into the future and we see Jaicko as a Funkenberry artist.  Hmm.  Maybe next year, our Funkenberry artists can get a showcase at SXSW.  Just putting it out there.

You know, I am not really blown away by the new Lady Gaga video “Telephone” but when FOX News complains about it, it makes me like it more.

FOX News calls it “poison for the minds of our kids” and calls it straight pornography.  Actually, I saw a lot of girl on girl action in it more than straight.  I kid. I kid. 

As for the poison, not really digging the whole poison thing she has going in the “paparazzi” and “telephone” video.  Gonna be scared when hot blonde short women bring me drinks from now on.

Michael Jackson Announces 02 Dates. File Photo

The estate of Michael Jackson has inked a deal with Sony for $250 million dollars.   It is a distribution deal for new unreleased product and some of the stuff you already own from Michael Jackson.

Sony will release 10 albums of Michael’s over the next 7 years, so maybe about 4 cd’s of unreleased material and then 6 others with a new song here or there. 

The deal for Sony makes sense even though it seems like a lot of money.  Since Michael’s passing in June last year, Sony has sold over 31 million MJ records world-wide and with the release of “This Is It” as well, the estate will have made over $250 million in 1 year alone since his death. 

Sony also is paying for Michael’s likeness to be used in video games and movies and other products. 

Michael signed a contract with Sony back in the 80’s giving him control of his masters.  Sony had the rights to use his songs til 2015.  Under the new deal, they now have until 2017. 

The 10 cd’s actually cover the “This Is It” soundtrack so, actually, you are getting 9 more MJ cd’s, a few special editions of “Bad”, “Thriller” and others.  Also, a complete DVD of all of Michael’s videos will be released sometime down the road.

Hi everyone!  It’s been a busy but fun month for me and the site.  I want to thank you guys again for your support of the drfunkenberry.com and the brand.

Just want to remind some people who may be new coming here that when leaving comments, you can just put 123@aol.com and it will take it.   It’s just put there as part of the script.  Also, for some who criticize others spelling on the comments, don’t sweat it.  You guys see me make mistakes all the time and it is because I am either typing too fast or actually writing the story on my blackberry too fast.

Also, on the top right corner of the site, if you have a celeb sighting, or some juicy gossip or breaking news to send us, or if you are a PR team, an assistant, or even a celeb yourself with something to promote, send us news!  We would love to hear from you.

I know a lot of you have been asking about t-shirts and we hope to have them sooner than later.  I have a set date in mind, but will keep that to myself for now and hope to share it with you soon. 

Again, thank you guys so, soooo, sooooooo much for your support.  2010 has been off to a great start for us and we hope the same for you.  Times are tough but we are rolling with the punches, thanks to you!-Dr.FB

Lifehouse, whose biggest hit was “Hanging On A Moment” has another hit on their hands “Halfway Gone” as their CD “Smoke & Mirrors” debuted at #6 on the Billboard charts.  That is the band’s highest debut ever and it could be debuting on Funkenberry Radio shortly.  It is up to you.

Lifehouse is currently set to take the road with Daughtry as the tour kicks off later this week.
