Only snuggies sold worse than the new Madonna record this holiday season.
The pop icon first felt that female artists are being held back as the excuse of her album selling poorly on pre-order for i-Tunes, then a squabble with Lady Gaga. Madonna now is saying she is just as much of a rebel as Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King Jr., using images of them in black rope on their face like hers for the #RebelHeart album cover.
Even Bob Marley was not safe from the black rope as well. Madonna released 6 songs from "Rebel Heart" after 13 demos of the album were leaked much to Madonna's frustration...or perhaps acting frustrated. You know what we mean.
Under the photo of MLK Jr., she said "This #RebelHeart had a dream!"
Keep in mind, this is over poor sales. Not an artist comparing himself to a slave to get out of a record contract 20 years prior which caused it's own uproar although it changed the industry forever. This is over poor sales and is quite frankly, in poor taste.
From the fighting with Lady Gaga to lashing out at fans for the material being leaked. The duets with Macklemore & Miley Cyrus seem to make more sense of trying to keep up with trends. Trends that Madonna used to make and break. Perhaps it is time to scrap "Rebel Heart" completely and come out with new material and take a social media break. At lease she is not dropping the "N" word like she is 2Pac tho.-DocFB
Diagnosis: The poor sales of "Rebel Heart" have more to do with the material being sub par than people trying to hold Madonna back. It is a completely different game for an artist over 55 and you need to adapt to the changes or keep charging your fans over $500.00 to see your shows.
Kanye West released a surprise new single entitled "Only One" which features Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer and former Beatles member Paul McCartney. It seems a lot of Kanye fans have never heard of Paul until this week. Seriously.
You can listen to the new Kanye/McCartney track here. McCartney plays keys on the track.
E! News posted quite a few of Kanye's fans tweets wanting to know who McCartney was and if West discovered him. Wow.
I don't know who Paul McCartney is, but Kanye is going to give this man a career w/ this new song!!
— OVOJosh (@OVOJosh) January 2, 2015
Judging from this Twitter users other tweets, he really didn't know who The Beatles were. There is also a mention of "Wings" in the song which we are sure Kanye put in as an ode to McCartney's other band with the same name, Wings.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Silliness aside, "Only One" is a really great Kanye track.
PRINCE & 3RDEYGIRL have just released a lyric video for the song "ANOTHERLOVE" from the album "PLECTRUMELECTRUM" that interjects their performance on Saturday Night Live last month along with photos. The video was exclusively premiered on Billboard today.
The song penned by Alice Smith takes on another life with PRINCE & 3RDEYEGIRL big time. Prince recorded his version of the track during a jam with 3RDEYEGIRL -- Donna Grantis (guitar), Ida Nielsen (bass) and Hannah Ford Welton (drums) -- at his Paisley Park Studios in Minnesota.
The video was produced by John Andosca of JPA Entertainment. PLECTRUMELECTRUM was released on September 30th and topped the Billboard Rock charts. ART OFFICIAL AGE, released on the same day, topped the Billboard R & B charts.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Pretty impressive lyric video. Do you really wanna find ANOTHERLOVE?
Joe Cocker died of lung cancer at the age of 70 and his loss is tremendous as there may never be another singer like Joe Cocker. Ever again.
In an age of singing contest shows ala "The Voice" and "American Idol" someone who has a voice like Joe may never make it out of first auditions. Sure in the past there was 1 or 2 but the judges had no idea what to do with a voice like that. Joe had one thing you just cannot teach tho, and that is soul.
In an age where video killed the radio star, Cocker survived and persevered. Dying Monday in his home in Colorado due to lung cancer was his own way on being on the mountain high. His style was truly unique and one of a kind.
His voice and delivery style made sure that "Leave Your Hat On" was anyting but 80's campy but absolutely quite sexy. As Sandra Bullock was once told, shoes and a hat should be the last things taken off at night. Cocker can be thanked a lot for that frame of mind.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Joe Cocker. Truly one of a kind.
LA-based artist Twin Shadow, aka George Lewis, Jr., has debuted a new video for the track 'Turn Me Up' which was directed by Alex Turvey.
The striking black and white video was styled by creative director Milan Zrnic, and features clothing from Diesel and KTZ. 'Turn Me Up' is taken from Lewis's upcoming album 'Eclipse' which will be released on March 17th. He will tour North America in support of the album throughout March and April.
"I think it's important to let people take what they need from songs instead of explaining too much about what they mean for me personally," says Lewis. "But my friends keep asking, 'Turn me up' - what's that mean? I keep saying, 'Take more from me. Ask more of me. Give me more back. Stop fighting against the things you want the most.'"
Lewis adds adds: "I'm surrounded by great people right now, people who are pushing me, like my twin sister Ligia Lewis, my creative director Milan Zrnic, and Alex Turvey, who all worked with me to create the visuals for 'Turn Me Up'."-DocFB
Diagnosis: The Dominican Republic-born, Florida-bred Lewis adopted the Twin Shadow moniker in 2006. He has released two previous albums on indie labels Terrible and 4AD, 2010's 'Forget' and 2012's 'Confess'.

23-year old DJ/producer 3LAU has released his new single "We Came to Bang" featuring the seductive vocals of Luciana, accompanied by its violently comical new official video where "furry" mascots fight to the death surrounded by cheerleaders. "We Came to Bang" is 3LAU's follow-up club release to "Vikings," which came out earlier in 2014.
The young but experienced electronic artist first took the scene by storm two years ago, igniting dance parties and crafting beats to the delight of fans worldwide. 3LAU amassed widespread acclaim with two eclectic collections of bootlegs titled "Dance Floor Fifth," and the term continues to describe his unique sound. His second radio single "How You Love Me" has seen over 10 million streams across YouTube, Spotify, and Soundcloud, and is on track to be the most played record of 2014 on SiriusXM's BPM channel.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Fans can expect a busy 2015 from 3LAU, with a slew of announcements on the horizon for the new year.
It is time for #tbt #ThrowbackThursday with "Kokomo" by The Beach Boys. The song was released in July of 1988.
"Kokomo" was featured on the soundtrack to the Tom Cruise movie "Cocktail" and hit number one in the U.S., Japan, and in Australia where it stayed at the top spot for almost 2 months.
On the original "Kokomo" demo version, lead vocals were performed by Mike Love and Terry Melcher. The demo harmonies include Terry Melcher, Bruce Johnston, Mike Love, and Jeff Foskett. At Disney Films' request, the "Kokomo" demo was "upgraded" to a master recording, thus requiring members of the Beach Boys to re-record the demo vocals, except for Mike Love's lead.
The final recorded and released "Kokomo" background vocals are sung by Carl Wilson, Mike Love, Bruce Johnston, and Al Jardine. Terry Melcher's and Jeff Foskett's demo vocals were erased and replaced by Carl Wilson's and Al Jardine's vocals. The final released "Kokomo" lead vocals are sung by Mike Love and Carl Wilson.
The video was shot in less than 2 hours due to threatening rain. Actor John Stamos can be seen in the video playing bongos, conga, and a steel drum.-DocFB
Diagnosis: If you thought Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" was hard to get out of your head.....
