Smash Season 2 will see Jennifer Hudson join the cast alongside Katharine McPhee. We almost forgot that BOTH were former contestants on American Idol. You know, when Idol actually made it about talent instead of the hosts?

J.Hud will be playing a 2 time Tony Award Winner on the show. The Oscar winner shows off her singing chops in the sneak peak which you can watch above.

We haven’t seen season 1 although our friend Joe is a huge Katharine McPhee fan. We just might have to watch season 2.
