The outfit under Miley’s dress looked like a flesh-colored diaper…til she stripped down to reveal a weird flesh-colored outfit.

Diagnosis: This is the last time we have to see these songs performed for a while….right? Have mercy!

I’m going to berate Miley Cyrus for acting like she did. I’ve done some pretty wild things in my day – some that I’d be embarrassed about today.
And I’ve seen amazing performances from the likes of Prince and Madonna – that pushed similar boundaries.
The worst part of her performance and video is what we don’t see –or maybe we are seeing it!: Coked up parties with no “off” button -and a life filled with sycophants who couldn’t care less about her. Time will only tell if this is just a character to Miley Cyrus – trying to break free from her “Disney” persona…or the real her.

I agree with Michael. Prince caught my attention with sex when I was 12 but he kept my attention with raw talent and a ton of work. He was dirty but taught me that sex is beautiful. It was always a very religious thing with him. I was a teen when I saw my father cheat on my mother for 5 years before they divorced. Prince was a very positive influence both sexually and religiously in my life at that time. I hope that my children will someday have a great outside influence as I did.

Ahem, that was like watching a train wreck, you’re horrified, but can’t stop staring! Embarrassing on every level. Sad that poor young girls who watched Hannah Montana have this as their example. Miley’s parents must be so proud. Sad that Alan Thicke thought it was a good idea, too. His wife must be so proud. As a parent who grew up watching Prince, Madonna and a host of others “push boundaries” and have now grown up to understand why that was inappropriate (I believe even Prince gets that now, even though he knows it is what it is-“made in the image of cause and effect”), I must say it frightens me what kids are learning these days as to right and wrong, in this virtual porn culture we call “entertainment.”

The Miley/Alan/2/whoever the last guy “whatever-that-was-supposed-to-be” thing was incomprehensible, lackluster and downright strange. You really have to wonder who thought it was a good idea to put these four otherwise unrelated artists together to put a hurtin’ on our ears. But hey, that’s just my opinion, and I would hardly call Miley the first or the last to push the boundaries of tasteful vs. trashy. So for all the FOOLS out their slut-shaming Miley for her performance, you still have the power within your dumb hands to turn it to another channel. If you don’t and you stay to trash her, CONGRATULATIONS! You’re what’s wrong with America.

Prince’s ‘Gett Off’ performance at the MTV Awards in 1991 shows us several things. Among those things is, performers will always ‘push boundaries’. But Prince mastered many musical instruments, vocal range, dance moves, song writing, and wardrobe while he was pushing boundaries. ‘Artists’ can push boundaries as much as they desire, we actually need that as a society, but it would be nice if they also developed some tangible talent first.

The difference is that the girls in the video had bodies to fill it out. On her, it looked like a flesh-colored diaper, current or otherwise. 🙂

Miley’s outfit was the same the models wore in the “Blurred Lines” (edited) video. Not surprising, really – if you know your pop music history, current or otherwise.
