Minnesota Vikings Teddy Bridgewater Gives Props To PRINCE In New Line Call

Peyton Manning used to say “Omaha” a few times before the ball was hiked. Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers says “green 19”  a few times before he has the ball hiked. The Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has a new line call that they have been using in practice; “Purple Rain”.

Minnesota’s favorite son PRINCE is being paid tribute by Bridgewater with the new line call that he has been using in practice since training camp opened last week. “Purple Rain” was Prnce’s critical achievement in movies, and music and labeled him the king and creator of the “Minneapolis Sound” in the 1980’s and beyond.

Prince will be honored with a tribute concert October 13th in the new stadium the Vikings play at, U.S. Bank.

Prince is a longtime fan of the Vikings and would attend home games of the team. I still remember footage of him overlooking the Vikings stomping my Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs of 2010, which after he recorded “Purple & Gold” as a fight song anthem for the Vikings to use.

Right now, we do not know if the line call will stick into preseason and regular games, and it would be cool if there could be some video footage of Bridgewater making the call (Ahem, hello Vikings staff with a cell phone.) time will tell.-DocFB

Diagnosis: Purple Rain, not Purple & Gold.
