10 Jan A Discussion On Prince In 2013; 3rd Eye Girl; A New Site?; Paisley Park Performances?
Last night, I did a spreecast with host Seth Everett on PRINCE in 2013. Me and Seth had these before where we just discuss things on Prince and what is going on. With 4 songs being “leaked” a few days before, people were thinking there would be breaking Prince news instead of a discussion of things.
Now, wouldn’t I put the big news on my site or advertise the spreecast here? I tweeted and facebooked it only. Still, expectations ran high.
I can understand that when it comes to Prince, people’s expectations run high, even though it said for a couple of days it is going to be a discussion. No special guests. Will there be some things asked and shared? Yes. Expectations many times lead to disappointment when nothing was ever promised.

Some interesting things were discussed and so they did not get lost in the mix, I figured we could discuss them here and allow some input from you the reader.
Topic #1. I wanted to debate the pros and cons of “free” content. Let’s say “3rd Eye Girl” was/is posting unreleased content without permission. Shouldn’t 3rd Eye pay for what they post? Then say the NPG could pay all of the employed producers of the content. n 19-member band paid annually is no joke. We all have bills to be paid.
Topic # 2. A discussion of a new web site. With so many of the Prince community hooked up online would and could the fans get together and start their own NPG MUSIC CLUB (Prince’s successful subscription and membership service used back in the early 2000’s), pool their $ and vote on what type of music they want?
Meaning if they wanted new songs, rehearsals, material from the vault, complete live shows, certain videos. This way, it skips the need of I-Tunes and other 3rd (sic)parties. If the fans created a network similar 2 Facebook, a fee could be given to the NPG and they could just fill the order, pay those deserving and stop all the lawsuits in one fell swoop. Thoughts?
Topic # 3. IF “3rd Eye Girl” turns out to be a band member, say the NPG’s newest additions Hannah Ford or Donna Grantis, what should be the disciplinary action taken? In the past, former band members have leaked material. Perhaps more thorough background checks are needed.
Topic # 4. Andy Allo was indeed the co-producer of the CD Superconductor. I was in the studio first-hand to see that happen. It is jointly owned by NPG and Alloevolution.
Of the all the artists that worked with Prince, Andy was one of the few who did not follow guide vocal trax originally laid down by Prince. Only the 3 songs that Prince co-wrote were produced in this manner. Andy is extremely talented and a quick-learner. She refuses to punch-in individual songs and rather goes back 2 the top when necessary to get a performance that she has sole approval of. She was given an unlimited budget by NPG to fulfill her vision. The results are something all of us can be proud of.

Topic #5. Paisley Park. The soundstage at Paisley Park is currently under renovation. It looks like Barbarella meets Sweet Charity. Are their any new fans that wanna experience late-nite parties at Paisley Park? What’s a good cover charge that everyone can agree on? Yes, Prince will be there.
Now, I want to state these topics do NOT cover everything that PRINCE will be doing in 2013. I think it is safe to say (But I am assuming)we could expect a new album with some good promotion by it, a tour (Where n when would be determined at a later date.) and so much more.
When these Paisley Park shows would take place is not exactly known. As it states, Paisley is under renovation. That could take a while. He just wants to know that when it does open, what do you feel should be the cover charge?
I think it is a good start that he is thinking of another web site but wants the fans heavily involved this time. Perhaps so the NPG is held responsible for what content is provided. It shows the Internet is NOT dead. It shows that social media does serve it’s purpose to some extent. I think it shows that he doesn’t want to be completely accessible via Twitter or Youtube and would use it when he feels it could benefit him and not a “3rd party”, so to speak.
I was going to put up a poll but I think it is best served if you answer the questions and perhaps when we have more of a general idea, we could do a poll with the most popular answers. I thank you for your time.-DocFB

Just take the f.. time u need (we’re not in a rush) 2 make the best album as possible, on u can really b proud of, a new landmark (think of Sign of the Times, Songs in the Key of Life, What’s Goin’ on, St Pepper Lonely Club Heart Band) avoiding all boundaries of genre, and let ur heart go like never b4 in ur lyrics, strike new chords, new rythms, new harmonies, new themes, go beyond ur confort zone (I mean all – or most – of the north american music styles of the 20th century that u have already explored with talent and success).
Hoops and now that (really sound) like another command 😉 ahahah.

You lose interest too quickly and what starts out exciting and promising from a fans POV ends up losing US money when you stop updating it with new content and simply close sites after people have paid “lifetime memberships”.
Would I like a new website – yes. But I would rather pay per download so that I knew I had got what I was paying for. From your POV that means no upfront cash to fund the website development etc.
Not sure how this will play out but I will also say one more thing – please do NOT do this via fans. The risks (for both sides) are too high and in the end everyone will lose.

You are a musician, we are music listener. We want music. So, stop to make us loosing time with stupid website, stupid videos, and stupid “fan interview”.
You have 10000 songs in your vault, and you are “young”, You can create others 10000 new Songs.
Sing, play music, and put your d*mn music online. NOT FOR FREE. We are ready to pay (because this is exactly what you want to know). You want to sell CDs, we’ll buy CDs. You want to upload songs ? We’ll download them. We’ll pay a price for each song. Or for each album to download. Or a subscription for MUSIC. Not stupid t shirt, stupid poem, stupid videos in bad quality.
WE JUST WANT MUSIC . And please, don’t think you are able to stop free download and bootleg. You can’t. You just have to choose. You can controle what we can listen during you are alive, and your music we’ll be everywhere when you will be dead. So you have to control teh situation RIGHT NOW. Spread you music legally. If you let us download good music, with a serious sound, we will pay. We are just tired to pay for nothing
And please stop to work with gossip website. 100 and 100 fans all over the world are working hard on website about you. Work with people who really know you, who really desserve it and not soldier who just obey about what you want.
some people are working night and day because they love you, and they fight for your music when “people” ask everyday “who is Prince ? Does he have new music ? now it’s not so good !”
Last point : enough with “never ending best of tour”. You are the most impressive artist on stage. You can play WHAT YOU WANT, the audience will follow you. Enough with fear.
Eat the world, like you did in the 80s.. Believe in you, and STOP TO ASK TO OTHERS what we want. You are the boss. Take some risks : online, and on stage

Posted at 21:04h, 12 JanuaryI live in Detroit and have seen him in Chicago in 2012, NY Welcome to America, and London Ontario, Welcome to Canada. I was too young to be apart of the Glam Slam days. I would pay any amount of money to go to Paisley Park and see him in a small venue. I’m 32. Was raised on Prince, and my mother and I go to see him whenever we can.

We all know P is “3rd Eye Girl”. I don’t give a fuck about that shit. I have bills to be paid too. Artists and musicians like Prince are earning 2 much money. They’re spoiled like fat cows and completely out of reality of the world. If Prince sells a arena for 1 million dollars the he can pay his 19 people staff, very well, each nite, and rehearsals and studio sessions TOO.
The key 2 success :
If P releases a cd with GOOD MUSIC and a GOOD ARTWORK w AT LEAST 10 PAGES, LYRICS, QUALITY GRAPHICS AND Beautiful PHOTOGRAPHS, then people will buy it. Unlike what he did with the latest releases (lotusflow3r 3cd CHEAP set, PLANET EARTH, 20TEN…) that’s not QUALITY, thats’ BULLSHIT. NEXT.
Topic # 2
Would and could the fans get together and start their own NPG MUSIC CLUB ?
Sure, they are all already online sharing what files they have. It’s called facebook, youtube, soundcloud, blogs, etc…
Fans need their fix, they get it. They don’t wait 4 Mr-I-Live-On-Another-Planet to release something. NPGMC was fine, why shutting it down ? Why shutting lotusflow3r.com ? Why shutting 3121.com ? May prince answer those questions if he only knows ? (not sure about this one)
About fans collecting money themselves and buying prince stuff diretly from Prince, that’s laughable. Who wuld have the time 2 manage sthg big like this, , then collect the money… (you know creating a site like that costs a lot of time and money)

As sure as prince would surely not deliver what EXACTLY would have been ordered and paid 4, and release shitty quality videos, or poorly original music like “rich friends” or “cause and consequence”… Hmm, what’s on his mind ? You want a site, prince? go ask some professionals. Oh shit it means you will have 2 pay 4 a 3rd party. I do too, everyday. Learn 2 reward other people 4 their work when they’re not artists like you. Spank prince in public and post the video here. After all, he’s the only one responsible 4 security breach concernig his muzak(sic). But he’s already humiliating himself by releasing crappy music, with permission or not, it should never have been recorded in the 1st place, that’s too bad. How cab he expect us 2 listen to the stuff he posted on this fake “fake official” twitter account ? Really ? i love 2 listen 2 Prince at the time of his splendour, greatness. I can listen 2 small clubs, reseda or montreux jams. I would love 2 hear troubadour shows, but no bootleg at a decent quality sound. But all the boring “welcome 2” stuff, NO EFFIN WAY !

I don’t give a fuck about AA, as do a lot of people.
We don’t need that kind of boring music. We want inspired artists that can write original songs from the scratch, and not people that you find in the subways or beaches covering Bob Marley. Even if she’s a good fuck, a fresh young woman with good ass and good boobs, I really really really don’t care, as do a lot of people. Stop trying 2 sell this stuff 2 us, we don’t want that. U better try 2 sell the sex tape. That would sell better.

5. Paisley reopening….and with paisley parties?! I think I’m going to faint! That would be incredible I’ve never been to one and would die to go, as for price honestly I would pay an arm and a leg there’s no price on prince…but when the chilie peppers came to the target center it was $48 – 65 so that would be pretty nice.

New site with new songs, rehearsals, material from the vault, complete live shows, certain videos would be amazing but with music in good quality,not mp3, and HD videos please and also the possibility to by CDs and tickets concerts.
A blu ray of his residency in London 20007 or Montreux 20009 or both 😉 would be so great! And of course a new album!
Parties in PP, wonderful, but don’t forget the rest of the world 😉
I always love Prince’s bands, so great musicians, but I dream also to see Prince live, alone, playing all instruments, he can do it, it would be awesome!
Anyway, Thank U Prince for your music and your “generosity” trough all this years, I insist, I never saw an artist as talented and “generous” with his audience in live performances, sometimes he gives so much, main shows of three hours, after shows even more longer!
And sometimes for free like in Montreux Jazz Cafe at three in the morning, I was there and he turned wild all the crowd… amazing night 😉
