4 years ago today, I posted the photo above with the story of Michael Jackson's passing. It was one of the hardest things I ever had to write.
I was able to confirm very quickly his death with different sources than TMZ...but CNN taking forever to confirm his passing. The comments section went nuts. Some calling me a liar til the L.A. Times confirmed our sources. Trust me, to this day, I wish I was wrong.
The days that followed with his videos being played in a constant loop in places where videos were not played anymore with an R.I.P. next to his name, I still couldn't believe it.
Today is a sad day for Michael fans but there is a part of me that wouldn't want them to be sad. It reminds me of people going outside the Apollo in New York City the night of his passing and playing his music and dancing to it. I think he rather have you enjoying his music and it bringing a smile to your face then making you sad.
That is how we choose to remember him. Today and everyday.-DocFB
