Billie Joe Armstrong came clean when it came to his new interview with Rolling Stone magazine; he was a functioning alcoholic.
The lead singer of Green Day, who will be doing their first show since BJ exited rehab on March 10th, was very straightforward.
“I played onstage loaded a lot. I'd have anywhere from two to six beers and a couple of shots before I went onstage, then go and play the gig and drink for the rest of the evening on the bus.”
“Fall asleep, wake up the next day, feel like s***, do sound-check... it was over and over again. In that way, I was a functioning alcoholic. I've been trying to get sober since 1997, right around Nimrod. But I didn't want to be in any programs. Sometimes, being a drunk, you think you can take on the whole world by yourself. This was the last straw. I had no choices anymore,”
He also talked about his addiction to pills;
“I started combining them to a point where I didn't know what I was taking during the day and what I was taking at night. It was just this routine. My backpack sounded like a giant baby rattle."
The singer wrote a song about Amy Winehouse and did not learn her lesson. We are hoping this time, through his own experiences, he learned his own lessons.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Glad you're better....but don't fall into old habits again BJ.
Sigh. Amy. Amy. AMY! Amy Winehouse lost her shiz over the weekend either not caring about a performance or being back on the sauce or the powder candy.
Amy first cancelled 2 European dates after her performance but her management team has done the right thing and cancelled her entire tour.
Don't know how many stories we have had on Amy in the past and several of you thought that we were way too harsh about Amy and her addictions, I wonder what you have to say now?
What a talent going to waste. The white Whitney Houston anybody? Hope she says "yes, yes, yes" to rehab soon.-Dr.FB
Diagnosis: Addiction Is A Losing Game
David Hasselhoff is back in the hospital and was driven there by his 17 year old daughter.
It is being reported that he went on a 3 day drinking binge that landed him in an Los Angeles hospital.
A source close to the situation had this to say:
"I'm sure he'll try to deny it this time, too. And that's sad, because it's his daughter who is suffering when she has to take care of him after a bender."
"It's a tough situation for that family. The parents have problems and don't get along. There's a lot of denial going on and the kids are suffering because of it."
It's like we heard this story before. I guess I am not an alcoholic so I wouldn't know how hard it is to quit but you would think for the love of your family and daughter, you would be able to quit.
The only thing I can say is I hope he gets better and one day does beat his addiction.-Dr.FB
UPDATE; Hasselhoff is denying the story saying he was not in the hospital on a booze binge this weekend and has no idea how the story got out.
He checked himself into a tough work out class to prove he has not been drinking.
