A photo was released we are told by Madonna herself of her and the Malawian baby Mercy she is trying to adopt.
She was quoted in a newspaper saying:
"I want to provide Mercy with a home, a loving family environment and the best education and healthcare possible. And it's my hope that she like David, will one day return to Malawi and help the people of their country."
Argh. Let her have Mercy. (No Elvis pun intended.) Her heart is in the right place and she can provide for the child.-Dr.FB
Madonna and daughter Lourdes are leaving London for....well, who knows?
Madonna has been maintaining a high profile since she was turned down to adopt Malawian baby Mercy. She has remained silent...until now.
She spoke with a Malawian newspaper yesterday and had this to say:
“I want to provide Mercy with a home, a loving family environment and the best education and health care possible. And it’s my hope that she, like David, will one day return to Malawi and help the people of their country.”
She also added, “Though I have been advised that I cannot publicly discuss the pending appeal regarding my desire to adopt Mercy, I do want to say how much I appreciate the level of support that I have received from the people of Malawi and my friends around the world.”
Straight up, I am for Madonna on this one. Her heart is in the right place, although I would be happier if maybe she adopted someone from this country who did not have a home either. Still I support her. If this were her concert tickets, however....
Hopefully, Madonna will hear how her appeal went soon.-Dr.FB
Madonna has been out several times this week after the adoption ruling. Just getting on and being very public. No word on she is set to come back for Mercy, the Malwian girl
Still nothing on her appeal for the baby, but itshould be coming soon.-Dr.FB
Madonna has been rejected for the adoption of Malawian baby Mercy. The judge decided the orphanage was a better place for the child than Madonna.
Will Madonna challenge the ruling later today?-Dr.FB
Marcy James will have to wait a little bit longer for Madonna to be her mother. Marcy's mother passed away at the age of 18 years old.
Marcy is a 4 year old that Madonna has been trying to adopt but the Malawian court has been slow to get things going with that. I see it getting done shortly.
How does this adoption sit with people? Madonna can clearly afford to give the kid a good life unlike say octopussy octomom. Is it in the best interest of the child though?-Dr.FB
