Also, on the top right corner of the site, if you have a celeb sighting, or some juicy gossip or breaking news to send us, or if you are a PR team, an assistant, or even a celeb yourself with something to promote, send us news!  We would love to hear from you.

I know a lot of you have been asking about t-shirts and we hope to have them sooner than later.  I have a set date in mind, but will keep that to myself for now and hope to share it with you soon.

Again, thank you guys so, soooo, sooooooo much for your support.  2010 has been off to a great start for us and we hope the same for you.  Times are tough but we are rolling with the punches, thanks to you!-Dr.FB

Corey Haim, the star of “The Lost Boys” and “License To Drive” has died.

Authorities believe he died of a drug overdose but are not a 100 percent certain.  His mother, who Corey was living with, said he has been battling drug addiction for years.  Prescription bottles were found in the apartment and Corey had been battling “flu-liky symptoms” for the past week.

He died in the Oakwood Apartments in the San Fernando Valley, which is the exact same place funkster Rick James died of a drug overdose in 2004.

Corey Haim suffered a stroke in 2001 brought on by his addiction to drugs.  He had been clean since 2004 it is being reported, and appeared clean while filming the “2 Corey’s” with Corey Feldman on A&E.

Corey Haim was 38 years old.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Haim’s friends and family.-Dr.FB

Lil Wayne began his jail term for 1 year yesterday for having a loaded gun on a tour bus back in 2007.

Wayne is at the Rikers Island jail complex where he will be held separately from other inmates due to his celebrity.  He will have his own jail cell but has the option to spend time with 17 other inmates while watching TV or other things.

Dwayne Carter, Wayne’s real name, could get released within 8 months with good behavior.

Lil Wayne took to his Twitter account before he reported to jail and said “Law is mind without reason … I’ll return.”-Dr.FB

Commentary On The Recent Suicides In Hollywood

Posted in Celebrity News, News on March 1st, 2010 by drfunkenberry

Marie Osmond. Photo: TheInsider.com

Marie Osmond. Photo: TheInsider.com

Remember the saying 2 is a coincidence and 3 is a trend?  We might be having a bad trend in Hollywood right now.

Marie Osmond’s 18 year old son Michael Blosil took his own life at the beginning of the weekend by jumping out of a window here in Los Angeles.  Andrew Koening, the former star of the 80’s sitcom hung himself in Vancouver, Canada.  Alexander McQueen, the up and coming fashion designer took his own life by hanging himself by one of his own designs.

Each battled with death or depression in thier life and only in one case was a note left.  These cries for help, why are they not being answered or treated?  Was the help simply not available or was it more than that?

I got chastised on my own blog for my feelings on Alexander McQueen’s suicide.  Although this is a celebrity news site, it is formed in my opinion, as most blogs are.  The attacks that I do not know what he went through or I did not havea tough life was utter BS.

I was not making light of his situation and these other suicides that have followed.  I was trying to show my anger of what transpired.  I have seen a lifeless body on the ground after they jumped and took their own life 2 days before Christmas.  I have talked a woman who took over 60 pills to kill herself and convince her to let the paramedics help her.

What I am about to share with you all is why feelings of suicide are so strong;  My mother used to threaten to kill herself all the time.  I was about 12 years old and I did not live with her but she would call me and tell me that she was planning on doing it tonight.  She would try to explain to me how she was going to do it.

The first time she brought up stuff like that was when I was 8 years old.  My grandmother allowed her to take me to McDonald’s and my happy meal soon turned into a God is evil meal.  I’m 8.  All I want is my little cheeseburger n toy.  But I got lectured on how if you believe in God, he is going to burn my bed and she is ending her life.

When I was 14, my grandmother went to visit my mother because she had not heard from her in a while.  I knew what was going on because my mom wrote me letters that she was going to starve herself.  Needless to say, when my grandmother found my mother, she was extremely skinny and was in dire shape.  They got her to the hospital and did get her help.

My mother is still alive and all that suicide talk is gone but I can’t forget the past and all the threats she made.  The reason I am sharing this experience with you is that I always took her threats seriously and it made me very sad and angry.  It is really hard for me to write this right now but I feel I must.

What is going on in Hollywood is a trend and it needs to stop.  If you or a loved one are battling suicidal thoughts or depression, PLEASE GET HELP!!  This is not only trouble in Hollywood, but all over the world.  There are people who care about you.  Remember that.  No matter how bad things are,  know that someone cares about you.

In the United States, The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline  is 1-800-273-TALK (8255).  Call them.  Please get the help you need.

If any readers in other countries know of other hot-lines, please leave it in the comments and I will add the number to the story.

Please, let’s try to stop this trend now together.-Dr.FB

8.8 Earthquake Rocks Chile: 6.9 Shakes Japan

Posted in News on February 27th, 2010 by drfunkenberry

An 8.8 Earthquake has rocked Chile this morning, killing dozens so far and triggering Tsunami warnings for Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Australia, Russia and other Pacific Islands.  There is even a warning for the coast of California.

The Earthquake hit about 3:30 in the morning over there.    So far, there has been 2 aftershocks over there, one at 6.2 and another at 5.4.

This came just hours after a 6.9 earthquake shook Japan.  There is no major damage there.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those effected by these events.-Dr.FB

Andrew Koenig, who played “Boner” on the 80’s sitcom has been missing in Vancouver for almost a week and has not used his cellphone in about that time as well.

Sarah Silverman, Alyssa Milano, Felicia Day, Hal Sparks, Alyson Hannigan and many other celebs have taken to Twitter and other means to ask for the public’s help in Andrew’s disappearance.
His father, Walter Koenig, who was part of the original Star Trek has posted a message about his missing son;
“Andrew was suffering from depression at the time of his disappearance … On Feb. 16, Walter received a letter from his son Andrew, which caused his father to grow concerned about his whereabouts because of it’s despondent tone. It is not believed that any specific incident prompted Andrew’s disappearance.”

Hopefully, a week later, Andrew turns up.  The longer it takes, the less likely it will be any good news.  Trying to stay positive for his family.-Dr.FB

Fashion Designer Alexander McQueen Takes Own Life

British fashion icon and designer Alexander McQueen may have taken his own life.  He was found dead in his home, just days after his own mother died.  It is being reported as a suicide.

His mentor, Isabella Blow committed suicide as well, by drinking weed killer.

I keep reading reports where everyone says what a nice guy he was and a kind heart.  That’s sad.

His death is sad as he was only 40 years old.  I am trying to keep my own convictions out of this but must say……there has to always be another way.  Suicide is not the answer.

His death will no doubt be talked about for some time but in my mind, no tears can be shed for someone who took their own life.  Life is hard.  Life sometimes sucks.  Straight up, suicide is not the answer.-Dr.FB

Coroner’s Report Reveals New Details On Michael Jackson’s Death

Posted in Celebrity News, Music, News on February 10th, 2010 by drfunkencherry

Michael Jackson

With Dr. Conrad Murray officially charged in the death of Michael Jackson, the Los Angeles coroner released new details from the autopsy. Below are some highlights from the report; read the full story at CNN or download the full report here. -Dr.FB

Jackson initally called Dr. Murray to his residence at 1am, where he “complained of being dehydrated and not being able to sleep”.

Murray told police investigators he had been treating Jackson for insomnia for six weeks at the time of the singer’s death. He had given Jackson 50 milligrams of the sedative propofol diluted with the local anesthetic lidocaine every night via an intravenous drip. He was worried that Jackson was becoming addicted to the drug and was trying to wean him off it.

The coroner took their first look at Michael’s body at UCLA Medical Center where they used his driver’s license to confirm his identity. “The decedent’s head hair is sparse and is connected to a wig. The decedent’s overall skin has patches of light and dark pigmented areas,” an investigator wrote.

At the time of his death, Jackson weighed 136 pounds and was 5 feet, 9 inches tall, according to measurements taken during the autopsy.

The front of Jackson’s scalp, from his hairline, was tattooed with dark ink over “frontal balding.” His eyebrows and the border of his eyelids were also tattooed. “There is a pink tattoo in the region of the lips,” the report said.

The autopsy also said that Jackson’s left lung was affected by “widespread respiratory bronchiolitis and chronic lung inflammation” that could have had an “adverse health effect.” But it was not “considered to be a direct or contributing cause of death,” a pathologist hired as a consultant concluded.

The report also outlined the unprecedented use of propofol as a sleeping aid, and the noticeable lack of equipment for administering and monitoring the drug, such as a continuous pulse oxymeter, EKG and blood pressure cuff. Use of propofol requires “full patient monitoring by a person trained in anesthesia,” Calmes, the consultant, wrote. Murray is a cardiologist.

“There was no evidence of an infusion pump for control of an IV infusion. No monitors were found at the scene; a blood pressure cuff and portable pulse oxymeter were recovered from a closet in the next room,” Calmes wrote. Calmes also said supplemental oxygen “should always be delivered” when propofol is being administered.
