He was too late with the an apology and for comparing President Obama to Hitler, Hank Williams Jr. is now without a job.

Hank Williams Jr. will now longer be the voice you hear before Monday Night Football games.  "Are You Ready For Some Football?" Well I am, but Hank Williams Jr. won't be anymore.

“We have decided to part ways with Hank Williams, Jr.,” ESPN said in a statement.  “We appreciate his contributions over the past years.  The success of Monday Night Football has always been about the games and that will continue.”

Hank Williams Jr., however is trying to say it is his decision and he quit; “After reading hundreds of e-mails, I have made MY decision.  By pulling my opening Oct 3rd, You [ESPN] stepped on the Toes of The First Amendment, Freedom of Speech, so therefore Me, My Song, and all my rowdy friends ARE OUT OF HERE!  It’s been a great run.”

Yea, sure you quit Hank.  You would have said this Monday night when you said you were misunderstood and then when you "apologized" Tuesday.

Honestly, I think it sucks someone was fired for speaking his mind but comparing a U.S. President to one of the worst humans that ever lived, on public tv, and not in your living room, is just stupid.

What do you think of ESPN's decision to can Hank Williams Jr.?-DocFB

NFL Week 4: Packers Versus Vikings In Favrebowl

Did you all think I forgot about my NFL Week picks and posts? Nope. I had to move it a day with a game this big.  What the Packers management tried to avoid has now become their biggest nightmare.

Last year, Brett Favre retired. The Packers moved on with him. Then Brett wanted to play but the Packers decided to still move on, trading the legend to the New York Jets, where the Packers were not going to play for 6 years and no chance of seeing Brett again. After a frustrating season, Favre retired again. The Jets cut Favre, leaving him free to sign with any team including the Packers division rival, the Minnesota Vikings, where he wanted to go last year.

The deal happened and this game was highlighted. It is not Favre traveling back to Green Bay.  That happens in November.  Tonight, however, it's Vikings versus Packers in Minnesota.

Favre said he wants to beat them for the way things ended. The Packers want to beat the shadow of Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, who had the task of replacing the legend would love to get that monkey off his back.

I am picking the Pack to take this game but for Favre and the Vikings to win the one on the road in November.

So, here it is: Who you got? Packers or Vikings?-Dr.FB

NFL Week 2: Are You Ready For Some Football?

OK, so here we are week 2 of the season and time for me to make more predictions or what not...just for fun.

Let's see if anything I said last week is true yet;

I said Tom Brady would be Tom Brady and he has. I said Donavon McNabb would get hurt sometime this season and Vick would start. Mcnabb is not playing tomorrow because he is hurt. Michael Vick, however, cannot play until week 3. I picked San Francisco to upset the NFC Champion Arizona Cardinals and they did. So far, you can call me butter because I am on a roll.

Now, let's get to some questions? Are the Panthers that bad? Are the Eagles that good?  We will find out with Carolina this week but since the Eagles do not have Donavon, we won't know.

The game of the week is Cowboys/Giants. It would have been Saints/Eagles if not for McNabb. Tony Romo and the Cowboys open the new Texas Stadium with over a 100,000 fans and the site of the 2011 Super Bowl.

Upsets of the week: Jags over Cards, Rams over Washington, and Baltimore over San Diego. (I really wanted to choose Miami over Indy tomorrow but since it is a Monday Night Game, I chose the Ravens.)

If the Jets didn't talk so much smack, I woulda picked them to upset the Patriots. But talking smack about Tom Brady and the Patriots before a game is like breaking wind on a first date in the presence of your date; You. Just. Don't. Do. It.

Again, this is all in fun and if you have anything you want to add regarding football and the games, please go ahead and do.

Bon Jovi still has not been announced as performers of this years halftime show. Let's make it happen! Have a great Sunday and Go Cowboys!-Dr.FB
