Yahoo! Movies reports that Johnny Depp will begin filming the fourth installment of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise this summer in Hawaii. The sexiest and most stylish man alive will reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow. Geoffrey Rush will return to play the villain, Barbossa, while former cast members Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom will not appear in the film.
Entitled "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides", the film is loosely based on the 1987 pirate novel, "On Stranger Tides" by award-winning fantasy author Tim Powers. The book tells the story of a young man who is captured by the pirate Blackbeard and forced to join in the search for the Fountain of Youth.
In other changes, the director of the original trilogy, Gore Verbinski, will not return. He is being replaced by Rob Marshall, the director of "Chicago" and "Nine."
Mark your calendars for May 20th, 2011 when "On Stranger Tides" is due in theaters. Before that, you can catch Depp on-screen in Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" in March. Depp will also appear as Tonto in a film version of "The Lone Ranger," due to begin filming after Pirates wraps production.- Dr.FB
Johnny Depp may have cooled to playing Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates Of The Caribbean 4. The reason? Disney executive and long-time chairman Dick Cook left over the weekend. Word has it Johnny is not too happy about it.
Depp and Cook become close over the first filming and readings of the Pirates movie. Depp is rumored to only be doing the movie now if the script is good as his willingness to play the character has diminished.
I don't think this will pan out because Depp is a consummate professional. I can understand where he is coming from and he is showing where he his loyalty lies and it shows Depp is a class act. He can only be respected for his decision but in the end, I think he will do it. For himself, for the fans, and for Dick Cook.
What do you think? Will be Pirates 4 happen?-Dr.FB
While in town for the premiere of the movie "Public Enemies", Johnny Depp, Marion Cotillard, and Michael Mann along with a few others ate at Gibson's Steakhouse in Chicago.
The meal and drinks ended up being about $4000. Johnny picked up the tab and what kind of tip did he leave?
Johnny tipped the waiter $4000. Unbelievable. He spent 8 grand on dinner. Damn. That Pirates Of The Caribbean money is no joke.
The staff of Gibsons said that Johnny has always been generous with his tips and is a very humble guy.
I cannot stress enough how much I like and respect Johnny Depp, not just as an actor but as a human being.-Dr.FB
