Xzibit has released a new video, "Man On The Moon" and it is making music history. It was the first video made for a production music library and is now the first to gain airplay as MTV has agreed to add it to it's playlist. We wonder if it will pre-empt the countless hours dedicated to "Jersey Shore" but doubt it.
Extreme Music, the production music arm of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, has announced that the video for Xzibit’s “Man on the Moon” has been picked up for rotation on MTV.
“When Xzibit decided he wanted to make a video for ‘Man On The Moon’ we jumped at the opportunity as a cool way of promoting his new project to our clients, it never occurred to us that it might be picked up by MTV ,” said Russell Emanuel, CEO and President of Extreme Music. “Xzibit and his amazing talent have helped us take production music to another level.”
“I am grateful that alongside Extreme we were able to bring Urban Ammo 2 to life, now having ‘Man on the Moon’ added to MTV is quite a welcome surprise, “ said Xzibit. “I will continue to add my creativity to what I consider a vibrant and always changing musical landscape.”
The video is directed by street legend Matt Alonzo and features Xzibit's protégé Young De.
