Lady Gaga's YouTube account is back up. As we reported last week, the account was shut down by YouTube for 3rd party infringement claims. The reason more than likely for posting her TV appearances as the TV shows usually own the copyright.
YouTube reactivated the account and what did Lady Extravaganza do as soon as it was back online? She posted her recent appearance on Japanese TV. Gaga performed "Edge Of Glory" in a sexy little garters and stockings outfit along with "U & I" and "Born This Way" to close it out.
We wonder if YouTube will go after Gaga again. As we brought up before, it is an interesting copyright battle as to who owns the copyright of a TV appearance; the artist or the TV show/Network?-Dr.FB
Diagnosis: Yup, Garters & Stockings. Happy Doctor.
What the what? Lady Gaga's personal and official youtube account has been taken down by youtube. The reason? 3rd party copyright infringement claims.
Usually, Gaga posts her own TV appearances like she did for the French TV shows she was on last week. The reason? So blogs such as drfunkenberry.com can share the links and footage for her fans to see on youtube and here.
From what I can see, she never posts other people's videos, only her own. So, it must be the TV shows she is appearing on claiming they own the copyright and not Lady Extravaganza herself. The fans suffer here more than anyone.
So we ask you, who owns the copyright of the performance; the TV show from which the artist appeared on or the artist themselves?-Dr.FB
Diagnosis: A 3rd Party IS Too Many Parties!
