Roman Polanski Being Defended By Hollywood

Straight up, how do you guys feel about several Hollywood stars and directors coming to the defense of Roman Polanski and his rape charge and sexual misconduct charge of a 13 year old girl stemming from 32 years ago?

Does it bother you they are saying it wasn’t really rape? Do you agree with them? Let me know.-Dr.FB

Roman Polanski has comitted a crime and he should be punished in one way or another. You cannot just forgive someone who abused an underage girl.

There’s a bit of a boy’s club mentality in Hollywood, where this type of behavior becomes somewhat acceptable. I’m a bit shocked that many female celebrities are baking Polanski. He may generally, be a good man and a good director. But he made a big, awful and disgusting mistake that no one should get away with.

Stars can sometimes think everyone wants to sleep with them, so how can they even commit rape? “Who wouldnt f*** so and so?” becomes an acceptable argument. In normal rape cases, people question the victim. This happens even more so when the accused is a celebrity. The victim has said she has forgiven Polanski, but mainly she just doesn’t want that kind of negative attention on her that she already had to suffer through. She may have forgiven him, but I don’t think it’s acceptable to run away from the law and get away with a horendous crime just because you make good movies. As Chris Rock said on Leno, no one was dumb enough to defend OJ by saying “yeah but he’s a great football player!”

Sounds like another typical case of Hollywood defending bad behavior because they think they are above the law just because they are stars. I wonder if any of the stars defending him would be doing that if it was their 13 yr old daughter? Roman Polanski raped that 13 yr old in 1977 and he needs to face the music. If if was any other guy on the street, he would have been in jail already and probably still in jail. Him being a big Hollywood director doesn’t mean a damn thing to me, he did a crime, was convicted of it and he needs to pay the price for it. Hollywood needs to mind their own business.

At first I could not beleive that some very well known actors were comming out in support of Polanski … are you kidding me ? … this man admitted to having sex with an underage girl ! …. Some people seem to have trouble with separating Polanski the director from Polanski the pervert. He should serve all of his time and they should throw in a few more years for him fleeing the country .

How can anyone defend a pedophile and child rapist? He drugged and raped a 13 year old every which way he could! The piece of crap should rot in jail until he dies. I don’t see what his current age has to do with it. He isn’t dead yet, so there is still plenty of time for him to serve.

Yes, it bothers me. It was the rape of a 13 year old. Polanski is a pedophile and should continue his sentence. It does not surprise me that Hollywood is defending him. Hollywood continues to live with NO Morals. Sad!!!

Obviously pedophiles continue to get away with this most horrendous of crimes, especially if they are celebrities. Shame on us as a society!

My opinion: it was rape, he was convicted, he should serve his time. Doesn’t matter to me that it was 32 years ago and that the victim no longer wants him prosecuted. It was a crime, and a heinous one at that.
