Atlanta was Hotlana again last night as the Black Eyed Peas kicked of the E.N.D. tour.

The B.E.P. tour is supposed to be one of the biggest tours of the year.

I must say, Fergie picks some very interesting outfits.  At least if she pees in that outfit, you won’t be able to tell like before.   Oh, come on!  You were thinking it so stop acting like you weren’t.  ;)

The Grammys Have A Problem

Posted in Celebrity News, Entertainment, Music, Television on February 1st, 2010 by drfunkenberry

The Grammys last night had a problem.  Actually, they had a lot of problems and I am about to address some of them right now.

First of all, the Grammys need to follow the Golden Globes lead and what the Oscars have done for years and that is go LIVE around the United States and the World.  We are living in an Internet world where people use Twitter and Facebook to converse and we have friends in different states that are watching it live while we wait for 3 hours, but we see them tweet about performers and awards.

As we become more advanced, the need for LIVE shows is more important.  Trust me, people on the West Coast get screwed on finding out the results of American Idol as well.

The Grammys were so heavy on commercials that it made me wish I DVR’d them instead of wanting to watch them live.  That was some lameness right there.  You don’t have a host so it cut down on time, but it doesn’t help when we are getting 15 minutes an hour of commercials.

If you guys are so strapped for cash then maybe you need to come up with this: “Here is the Best New Artist Award, brought to you by Target.  Target.  Where you get crap for less.”  I mean you are already commercialized so much any way, we wouldn’t really notice and then you would not have to go to a break so quickly.

Another thing is Adam Lambert got so much crap from censors about his performance at the American Music Awards.  You want to know what is more annoying to me?  When the Black Eyed Peas are performing and you hear about 10 seconds of dead audio because they just had to curse.  That was sooooo 1993.

The Lil Wayne, Eminem and Drake performance was even worse.  It is not enjoyable at home and I am ALL about artistic expression but B.E.P. and Em, Wayne, and Drake, your performances were straight booty because you not being professional enough to keep it clean for TV.  It is the most annoying thing to not have audio for that long.  Can’t you think of other words that rhyme with duck or lit or pucker?  Come on now.  Show your versatility.

Lastly, the Grammys gave out a BUNCH of awards before the show.  Taylor Swift’s first ever Grammy was given before the show aired.  We missed her excitement.  Lady Gaga did not win any awards on the telecast but actually won 2 before the show.  Maxwell won R & B male but we did not see it.  Jay Z won two awards for D.O.A. and Eminem won for best rap album but we did not know.

Toby Keith talked about the grammys not giving Country music respect.  Sorry, but  for R & B music and Rap music categories to be ignored the way they have is horrible.

A message to the Grammys, the MTV Awards, The American Music Awards, the TV networks and Award show producers need to figure this out and make some changes or the Grammys next year won’t be in my home, they can go home.-Dr.FB

Fergie Looks Delicious

Fergie NRJ Awards 2010

Fergie. Photo: GettyImages.com

Fergie, along with her band mates the Black Eyed Peas, showed up to the NRJ Awards in Cannes, France this weekend.

Fergie wore a beautifully delicious purple dress that accentuated her healthy body.  Girl got hips n it is fairly obvious she works on her fitness and her backside quite well.

Fergie has gotten a bad rap from other bloggers for being mannish but there is nothing mannish with the way she looked.  Just that maybe it takes a real man to handle a woman like Fergie.

Beyonce Leads Grammys With 10 Nominations

Beyonce was nominated for 10 Grammys last night with Taylor Swift with 8 and Lady Gaga, The  Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell and even Kanye West ended up with 6 nominations.

Dwight Yokum wanted to point out he has been nominated 21 times and only won 2.  Something tells me Beyonce is going to be taking home a lot of awards and Gaga is gonna get stiffed. Sigh.

My Take On The American Music Awards

The American Music Awards was the best AMA’s in about 10 years. A majority of the stars were on hand except for Beyonce and Taylor Swift.  A couple years ago, almost every award winner was not there. Another year, the biggest act performing was the return of Motley Crue.

Lady Gaga did not disappoint but left the show empty-handed.  Will the Grammys get it right?  Kelly Clarkson belted out a tune. Carrie Underwood proclaimed her love for her “Cowboy Casanova” with a bevy of back-up dancers.  Janet Jackson went through a medley of her hits surrounded by her new song “Make Me” and an outfit that did not complement her, but did not provide a Super Bowl moment.

A few random notes:

-Was Taylor Swift really in London via satellite or was it to make sure she would not be interrupted by Kanye? (I kid. I kid.)

-Why is no one talking about Green Day’s solid performance?

-How hot was Sofia Vergara?

-Adam Lambert.  Wow or Ouch?

-Did you notice there was no host?

-Good job by American Music Award producers for editing Jennifer Lopez’s performance of a forgettable song by taking out her fall during her performance.  By doing that, you brought attention to it, and provided a moment for us bloggers.

I had a problem with Michael Jackson being nominated for so many awards and winning.  It was based on his older CD’s selling after his death.  It just wasn’t fair for other artists to compete with that.  Thankfully, it is no longer whoever sells more wins, because the only artist to sell more than MJ this year was Taylor Swift.

At the same time, by not doing a tribute, it cut down on Jermaine’s speech.

What did you all think of the American Music Award show?-Dr.FB

PS I will be adding more to this later as time permits.

Black Eyed Peas American Music Award Performance

Posted in Celebrity News, Entertainment, Music on November 23rd, 2009 by drfunkenberry

The Black Eyed Peas did a medley of their latest new songs. It seems a lot of people loved this performance. It seems a lot of people hated this performance. Very much in the middle.

2 things I think we can agree on: Will. I. Am.’s wig is trippy. Fergie looked amazing.-Dr.FB
