Only snuggies sold worse than the new Madonna record this holiday season.
The pop icon first felt that female artists are being held back as the excuse of her album selling poorly on pre-order for i-Tunes, then a squabble with Lady Gaga. Madonna now is saying she is just as much of a rebel as Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King Jr., using images of them in black rope on their face like hers for the #RebelHeart album cover.
Even Bob Marley was not safe from the black rope as well. Madonna released 6 songs from "Rebel Heart" after 13 demos of the album were leaked much to Madonna's frustration...or perhaps acting frustrated. You know what we mean.
Under the photo of MLK Jr., she said "This #RebelHeart had a dream!"
Keep in mind, this is over poor sales. Not an artist comparing himself to a slave to get out of a record contract 20 years prior which caused it's own uproar although it changed the industry forever. This is over poor sales and is quite frankly, in poor taste.
From the fighting with Lady Gaga to lashing out at fans for the material being leaked. The duets with Macklemore & Miley Cyrus seem to make more sense of trying to keep up with trends. Trends that Madonna used to make and break. Perhaps it is time to scrap "Rebel Heart" completely and come out with new material and take a social media break. At lease she is not dropping the "N" word like she is 2Pac tho.-DocFB
Diagnosis: The poor sales of "Rebel Heart" have more to do with the material being sub par than people trying to hold Madonna back. It is a completely different game for an artist over 55 and you need to adapt to the changes or keep charging your fans over $500.00 to see your shows.
Kanye West released a surprise new single entitled "Only One" which features Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer and former Beatles member Paul McCartney. It seems a lot of Kanye fans have never heard of Paul until this week. Seriously.
You can listen to the new Kanye/McCartney track here. McCartney plays keys on the track.
E! News posted quite a few of Kanye's fans tweets wanting to know who McCartney was and if West discovered him. Wow.
I don't know who Paul McCartney is, but Kanye is going to give this man a career w/ this new song!!
— OVOJosh (@OVOJosh) January 2, 2015
Judging from this Twitter users other tweets, he really didn't know who The Beatles were. There is also a mention of "Wings" in the song which we are sure Kanye put in as an ode to McCartney's other band with the same name, Wings.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Silliness aside, "Only One" is a really great Kanye track.
LA-based artist Twin Shadow, aka George Lewis, Jr., has debuted a new video for the track 'Turn Me Up' which was directed by Alex Turvey.
The striking black and white video was styled by creative director Milan Zrnic, and features clothing from Diesel and KTZ. 'Turn Me Up' is taken from Lewis's upcoming album 'Eclipse' which will be released on March 17th. He will tour North America in support of the album throughout March and April.
"I think it's important to let people take what they need from songs instead of explaining too much about what they mean for me personally," says Lewis. "But my friends keep asking, 'Turn me up' - what's that mean? I keep saying, 'Take more from me. Ask more of me. Give me more back. Stop fighting against the things you want the most.'"
Lewis adds adds: "I'm surrounded by great people right now, people who are pushing me, like my twin sister Ligia Lewis, my creative director Milan Zrnic, and Alex Turvey, who all worked with me to create the visuals for 'Turn Me Up'."-DocFB
Diagnosis: The Dominican Republic-born, Florida-bred Lewis adopted the Twin Shadow moniker in 2006. He has released two previous albums on indie labels Terrible and 4AD, 2010's 'Forget' and 2012's 'Confess'.

23-year old DJ/producer 3LAU has released his new single "We Came to Bang" featuring the seductive vocals of Luciana, accompanied by its violently comical new official video where "furry" mascots fight to the death surrounded by cheerleaders. "We Came to Bang" is 3LAU's follow-up club release to "Vikings," which came out earlier in 2014.
The young but experienced electronic artist first took the scene by storm two years ago, igniting dance parties and crafting beats to the delight of fans worldwide. 3LAU amassed widespread acclaim with two eclectic collections of bootlegs titled "Dance Floor Fifth," and the term continues to describe his unique sound. His second radio single "How You Love Me" has seen over 10 million streams across YouTube, Spotify, and Soundcloud, and is on track to be the most played record of 2014 on SiriusXM's BPM channel.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Fans can expect a busy 2015 from 3LAU, with a slew of announcements on the horizon for the new year.
Taylor Berrett will be releasing his debut album, Great Falls, on March 10, 2015. The album embodies songwriting at its finest, with great artists like Paul Simon and Billy Joel as inspiration and Taylor's uniquely fun, uplifting, and poignant style at the heart.
The 22 year old from Virginia has always loved songs, and realized at an early age that he was desperate to follow in the footsteps of songwriters such as Stevie Wonder, the Elton John/Bernie Taupin team, and Chris Martin. As a teenager, Taylor was signed to the production company of SRP with Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers (best known for signing and developing Rihanna). From there, he further developed his craft and was led to iconic songwriter Kara Dioguardi. Kara signed Taylor to her publishing company and brought him to Warner Bros. Records, bringing it full circle at the home of many classic artists, including Taylor's favorite, Paul Simon.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Berrett was signed to a contract after one showcase performance.
Legendary guitarist Johnny Marr (formerly of The Smiths) released his new music video for "Dynamo."
The track is off Marr's acclaimed sophomore solo album Playland, which Rolling Stone boasts is "filled with wicked guitar salvos and shiny, barbed hooks..." and Q Magazine adds, "'Playland' is better than its predecessor in pretty much every respect. The songs are better, the palette broader and there's a genuine sense of Marr hitting his stride as a solo artist."
'Playland' is Marr's second solo effort and the follow up to last year's critically acclaimed (included the honor of being named as NME's Godlike Genius) Top 10 debut album 'The Messenger.' Work on the album commenced in London in spring 2014 as soon as the year of touring in support of 'The Messenger' came to a close. It finds Marr continuing the creative connection that was forged on 'The Messenger' with collaborator and co-producer Doviak.-DocFB

Former contestant on The Voice France - Diana Espir premiered her debut single and lyric video for"Tomboy" this week.
"Tomboy" features Nelly and was produced by Uriel "Frenchie" Kadouch. "It's a playful song about a girl who likes to have a plain old good time hanging out in cars with her homeboys... it's about me realizing that sometimes I'd rather have fun around boys."
The former Voice France contestant started her career writing and singing ballads. At 15, she made her debut with "Je dessine mon destin" ("I Design My Own Destiny"). "My music was geared towards a younger audience," says Diana, who, at the time, appropriately specialized in teen-oriented fare. "What I'm doing now takes my music to the next level." While Diana's been busily recording her latest material in some of New York City's famed studios with her producer Uriel "Frenchie" Kadouch and prepping her music video for "Tomboy," several projects she recently completed are bubbling in Paris, where she had been living. Her voice-over work is being used for dubbing everything from commercials to popular TV shows into French.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Diana's myriad creative pursuits allow her many mediums for expression. However, "singing," she says, "is my favorite thing to do, and it's going to be what I'm doing until I can't do it anymore."
