It is time for #FlashbackFriday and "Kiss" by the birthday boy, born on June 7th......Tom Jones! What? Was someone else born on that day or something???
Tom Jones was born in Minnesota....wait...wait...I think I'm getting him confused with someone else. Hmm. "Kiss" is by Tom Jones...right? No one else did it...right? Hmm.
Well, I'm stumped. We want to wish a Happy Birthday to Tom Jones and if anyone knows of anyone else born on this day, even if they don't celebrate birthdays, you can wish them a happy birthday in the comments section. Maybe it will trigger my memory....-DocFB
Diagnosis: If he doesn't celebrate birthdays, can I call dibs on the gifts?
DC Comics released a teaser a week ago showing Superman & Wonder Woman hooking up on the cover of Justice League issue #12 and comic retailers are NOT happy!
Usually the teasers are released on Tuesday, the day before releases. I figured, like many, a week in advance would build up hype for the issue. I went to 2 comic book stores in Los Angeles on Monday and talked to the owners.
I asked how many people were calling ahead to reserve their copies and he said not too many. Another store said the hype was too early and people have forgotten about the hook-up already. They are worried that sales this week will not be as high as DC is projecting.
I asked if they heard about DC releasing another leak and they said there was not going to be another push for it. Even the variant cover, an alternate cover that is made in a more limited run, does not feature Superman & Wonder Woman kissing, but features Batman and Aquaman. Wouldn't it had more sense to have a variant of Clark Kent and Diana Prince kissing in the same manner?
DC relaunched all its titles which they called "The New 52" last year to much fan-fair, eliminating the marriage of Clark Kent and Lois Lane along with many other story-lines across the DC Universe. It was an attempt to make DC relevant again and at the same time, copy Marvel Comics success with what they did to the "Spider-Man" title a few years ago where his marriage to Mary Jane Watson never happened.
If the retailers concern for the early leak of the Superman/Wonder Woman will transpire to lower sales, DC Comics just lost a huge chance to remain relevant.-DocFB

Two days since the "official" confirmation of Madonna performing at the Super Bowl, some people are speaking out against her being chosen.
Rocker and KISS frontman Gene Simmons was asked by TMZ about Madonna being chosen as the Super Bowl halftime show act and he was not pleased.
"I love all karaoke singers. "I like all the girl singers who get up and sing with tapes. Shame on you. You've got to have some integrity. "I don't care what your music is. Have some integrity -- be real or full disclosure before the fact. Hold up a sign saying, 'Seventy percent of what you hear is fake. It's a tape. I'm a karaoke singer.' Say it!'
"She isn't"appropriate" for the halftime show."
Interesting. As we told you months ago, Madonna was goign to be the Super Bowl act. You would figure someone saying Madonna was not appropriate for the Super Bowl, it would be about her clothing and another Janet Jackson incident, not her music.
What do you think? Does Gene Simmons have a point that Madonna will lip synch the Super Bowl and not perform live?-DocFB
Diagnosis: Very interesting stance by Gene......
Here is a mash-up of DJ Rob Base & Prince entitled "It Takes Two 2 Kiss" and it is funky. This is our old school jam of the moment.
This mix is made by DJ John and I have been digging it for a while.
We have been wanting to put stuff like this on our Facebook Fan Page, but Facebook's music player has not been working for over a week.
Since we can't and we wanted to share, and we do not know when the player will be fixed, we decided to share it here.
I miss the days of 12 inch versions n mixes big time.
It is a pretty cool mix and we hope you dig it. Check it out below.
What do you think?-DocFB

Ellen had her Emmy special yesterday and felt the need to dance to "Kiss" by Prince.
We must say her dancing to "Kiss" is a whole lot better than Lady Antebellum covering "Kiss" that's for sure.
The audience was loving it...except for some girl you can see with her arms crossed at the 1:15 mark. What's her deal? Shake it like a white girl! Do something.
We need some Prince news. Like 7 minutes ago. Something. Anything. Hmm. Prince on Ellen would be cool. No. No. No! We mean on her show. Where is your mind?
For now, we will just enjoy Ellen doing her thing...for as long as the video stays up.-DocFB

Although it seems Eminem disses Lady Gaga in Bad Meets Evil's "Kiss" by calling her a male lady, Eminem thinks Lady Gaga is dope.
Asked at Bonnaroo Eminem clarified his lyric and what he thinks of her. Guess sometime a lyric is just a lyric, right? Hmm.
Diagnosis: Gaga Is Incredible
After performing "Just A Kiss" last night, Lady Antebellum covered and performed "Kiss" by Princeat the Country Music Awards (CMT) I liked the girl singing it. Not sure if it should have been a duet.
We have been wondering if Prince likes Lady Antebellum because "Need You Now" was played several times before his 21 Night Stand shows at the Forum
Check out the performance above and see if they did Prince justice.-Dr.FB
