Well, he successfully did it. Bruno Mars hosted and was the musical performer on Saturday Night Live this weekend, easily the best show of the season so far.
Mars kicked off the show with a musical number and then in his first skit, dressed in drag for "The Haters Talk Show" where he looked comfortable dressing up as a woman.

The Jam Of The Week is also a video premiere of "Locked Out Of Heaven" by Bruno Mars.
The video and song has an 80's feel to it. I've been saying lately that we are seeing more videos taking chances but keeping it fun and simple like in the 1980's, the age of music videos. This one by Bruno Mars is no exception.
The song sounds like a mix of "Roxanne" and "Don't Stand So Close To Me" by The Police. There is no such thing as coincidence's....
With a look that may need some 3-D glasses, the video is shot in a way where it looks like the signal is about to fade. The 80's feel continues with the performance and shots of the equipment. The "behind the scenes look of the video" is also interesting, showing Bruno smoking, something you would see rockers do in the video's of the 80's but not so much today. Unfortunately, it is not just shot for the video; Mars is an obsessive chain smoker that shows no signs of quitting in real life. Will be a shame if his voice is taken from us too soon.
We would get our funk license taken away if we did not see Mars somewhat trying to emulate Michael Jackson a little bit in the video. You guys see it, right?
"Locked Out Of Heaven" is the first single from his upcoming album "Unorthodox Jukebox" due for release on 12/11/12.
Mars is set to do his first TV performance of the song on Saturday Night Live this weekend where he is the host and musical guest of the show.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Wonder what The Police think of this song....?
