The 2009 Emmy Awards were last night and hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, who I am sure did a great job.  Much better than not having a host like in Emmys past or having multiple hosts.

Will the ratings be higher or will have most Americans have been watching the Giants beat the Cowboys on NBC instead like I did? The Emmys were moved away from the Cowboy game, 1 week ahead but Viacom, who owns MTV and CBS did not want the MTV Awards and the Emmys on the same date, so it was moved back.

Neil Patrick Harris File Photo

Yesterday, the Emmy’s got their man. Neil Patrick Harris will host this years Emmy’s.

The show will air on September 20th against the Dallas Cowboys New York Giants game. HavingNPH host the show should bringin a few more million viewers but in the end, the Cowboy game will get higher ratings.  At least with Neil as host, CBS will have me DVR-ing the show.-Dr.FB

Elton John and “Billy Elliot” partook in the Tony’s last night where “Billy Elliot” won 10 Tonys. Elton John also performed with the cast of “Hair” and unfortunately Poison performed as well.  Why?  We still don’t know.

Neil-Patrick Harris did a great job of hosting the show and delivering a show-stopping number at the end of the show parodying some of the nominated musicals.  All in all a fun night for those that enjoy Broadway and musicals.  I called it a night after the Laker game.-Dr.FB

Saturday Night Live retured with Neil Patrick Harris as host and Taylor Swift as musical guest and turned it out.   A guest appearance by Liza Minelli was also fun.  Here is the opening skit featuring a parody of Rachael Maddow.  We kept thinking it was Drew Barrymore playing her!-Dr.FB
