Prince Interviewed by NRJ Radio in France
Prince sat in with the crew of the 6/9 show at NRJ to talk about his time in Paris. Prince mentions that he doesn’t find much inspiration in the music of today but then says, “There’s some songs back in the 80’s I used to enjoy listening to. I used to like Robert Palmer when he was around so when I would hear that then you get the song “U Got the Look”.

Thanks Doc. I’m enjoying all the interviews he’s been doing since coming out to France. It seems like it’s doing Prince some good to be in Paris. I hope it inspires him to make and release some hot music as a result from this trip.
Thank you!
If they had Prince speaking on a 1-800 numba I would be dead a** broke! lol Love that voice!Grrr!
So happy that he is doin more interviews. He may not like them but as I say… the more you force yourself to do something you are not comfortable with etc the easier it becomes!Keep on talkin Princey! Thanks Doc for sharing
Prince is right, most of the music they play on the radio and mtv sucks. Thank God for You Tube so i can go back to the old heroes.
Monsiour Prince, vous aimez bien Britney Spears? Mais …non ? Pourquoi?!

Great interview…I wish we could have understood what the French Deejays were saying, but it’s all good! Thanks for hitting us up with it!
Prince is right, ain’t no music out there worth be inspired by nowadays.
Wow, Prince is just too cool. He would be cool to just sit and chat with over tea and some cocoa. I just wished that the interviewers would have let him finished his answers. He was cutoff on a few questions.
I love him when he got verbal diarrhoea, I love him so much right now!
i just looooooooooooove his voice… gives me goosebumps

Thanx Doc
Wonderful interview -merci Prince MUAHHH
..that voice got me purring like a cat LOL
Nice! A bit irritating with the qestions in french though (why can’t french ppl learn to speak english, like the rest of Europe)? In most cultures it’s unpolite to interrupt when someone’s talking, but not in France. It’s almost like the radioguys thinks Prince talks to slow…LOL! How nice Prince likes Robert Palmer! I used to listen a lot to him aswell:)
Thanks Doc!
the Canal Plus Show was really
he was there to play 2 songs
chose to play DANCE 4 ME ; his version was even better than the one he played 2 days ago at la CIGALE ( 3 differents flavors breaks in one song : who can beat that LIVE ? check on U TUBE of u don’t believe me )
then after a very short interview he got to NO MORE CANDY 4 U
Sursprisingly in a TV SHOW , he got back for an ENCORE with 1999 in full , intro for i feel 4 U and turned into a red hot version of CONTROVERSY ( introduced like : We re going to play oldschool coz this is my second HOME )
Prince in PARIS was celebrated and respected as the genius talent that he is ;
> In most cultures it’s unpolite to interrupt when someone’s talking, but not in France.
It is in France too! Be sure in France, it disturbs us too.
The interview was recorded on Monday 11th of October and broadcast the 14th. There was some editing in the interview as the pseudo-interviewers are chatting with him with a lot of familiarities that surely wasn’t the case in the original interview. Not even sure, they’re the ones interviewing him on Monday.
> A bit irritating with the qestions in french though (why can’t french ppl learn to speak english, like the rest of Europe)?
NRJ is a young-oriented radio. At 15, I wasn’t able to speak English properly… My answer is in English, does it please you? ;o)
Yo Just, checked Prince out! Great interview! Thank You Dr. Funkenberry!
I totally agree with CycoZora: the interview was edited probably for time sake, and also to make it seem more lively than what it actually was. I have a hintch the interviewers were not so layed-back with Prince as they seem to be in the interview.
As for Miss Fortune’s remark, I’m not under the impression ANY American interviewer makes an effort to speak the language of their foreign guests (who speaks Spanish to Antonio Banderas or Penelope Cruz? who speaks French to Juliette Binoche or Danish to Lars von Trier? absolutely NOBODY on U.S. TV).
Get a grip, people speak French in France! You don’t like it, do what I did: learn the language.
greetings, I didn’t know where to contact you but your web design was off on firefox and IE. Anyways, i just suscribd to your rss.
